Holly Hunter described herself and a character as being "feral."

I love that word as a description of a certain type of female.

Feral: A feral organism is one that has escaped from domestication and returned, partly or wholly, to its wild state.

The idea of a woman both intelligent and feral is hot.

Feral is exactly the word I would use to describe myself after deciding my marriage was over  Feral - wild, untamed, trying to satisfy the innate basic needs

Interesting. I'm a doctor and recently had to treat a young woman who had been homeless for a while. Her attention span was incredibly limited. Eyes never stopped looking around, she became agitated and impatient when offered something to eat and couldn't wait to disappear as soon as she'd had her scooby snack........I described her to a colleague as being............feral.

Same word, different perspective.

The idea of anybody being both intelligent and feral is an oxymoron. :irked:
