So, have you ever gotten a virus from porn?

I have had one once, but not necessarily from a porn site. It was from a site called Pornbb.org, and it more like a porn discussion board where people linked their own homemade videos and videos of certain types (like interracial, teen, black).

I got the virus from just being on their main page when all this scareware and shit started popping up all over my screen. I had to boot from disc and i lost all my data (didnt have external hard drive, bought one right after). so yea.

Needless to say, i have not been back to that site since. And i would recommend others from going their too

Yea, I've gotten a few but I generally have my tools running in the background that help to abort the connection.

Some have gotten through, but because I fix PC's, it's not an issue for me to eradicate them.
Some do require a full windows reload depending on how bad they are.

I use:
Avast Antivirus
Malwarebytes.org for Anti-Malware
Spybot Search and Destroy

If its your only computer, a spare hard drive or dvd burner to backup your critical data is important.
If you have a second PC, I recommend purchasing an IDE/SATA to USB conversion tool. That way you can physically pull the drive out of the computer, piggy back it on another PC and scan for viruses or extract your data. It's a cheap tool to have handy if your data is very important.

Also, Most PC's today do not come shipped with Recovery disks. You need to create these on your own with DVD's using the program installed on your PC.
Make sure your PC is clean of viruses and malware, and then create the disks.

Most users don't do this and they end up having to pay big bucks to get things back to the way they used to be.

A lot of the porno sites, and even a lot of the "legitimate" sites have ads on them that are just full of Malware.

Why I'm careful about where I go on the web, and I have a goodly amount of protection on my machine.

I got one awhile back from those LOL cat sites. It wasn't the pix on them, but the ads they have. Haven't been back since.

Only one, it was that site with the photo that repeats inself to make it look like a video? I forget the name, but it was gay sex AND virus. That was years ago though. I currently own a Mac, so it isn't a problem. People don't really bother writing viruses for macs, there isn't much point. Someday, I'm going to switch back to PC (I'm a casual gamer). When I ahve the money of course. I want to play Star Wars the Old Republic, one of the Total War Games, Sid Meiers, and probably a couple others I can't name right now. I will have to be content with my 360 for now...

Spybot Search and Destroy is made by webroot.

I use Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials cloud-based so there is no updating needed.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free only scans your computer when you start Malwarebytes and press scan. you have to pay get Real-Time Active Malware Prevention from Malwarebytes.
