Anyway, lately I'm relatively obsessed with the concept of blood brothers. (Yeah, I know. I'm weird.) I read somewhere that it's a male thing that women can't understand.
Has anyone done this? I remember wanting to do it a few times but never going through with it. In this day of communicable diseases it probably isn't the smartest thing to do. At any rate, it seems that it is likely that people don't really exchange blood. It's just symbolic.

Incidentally, I learned a while ago that if a male convert to Judaism is previously circumcised, there is a symbolic rite performed. The rabbi takes a needle and draws a drop of blood from the penis. I'm serious. This really happens. It's called the Hatafat dam britt seems that this need to draw blood has a lot of symbolism....
