Now this thread seemed to start innocently enough, but it sure got heated quickly, didn't it? I consider myself straight. It's not because I fear or hate people that are not straight; it's just who I am. And I don't feel that by not having a 1% under "gay" that I am close-minded either.

I see it the same way that I see ethnicity. I am a Korean by heritage, and if I were to put it on my profile, it would say 100% Korean. I could be "open-minded" and put 1% next to Russian because of the possibility that somewhere in the distant past some Russian blood could have been introduced to my bloodline, but I see no reason to do so. More than anything, I consider myself a realist.

I acknowledge the beauty present in both sexes, but I don't feel that affects my sexuality. I know which men are considered handsome and which are not. I just have no desire to have any form of sexual interaction with any of them. That is why I just go with the 100% under straight.

I have gay friends. About 30% of my co-workers are gay, bi, or lesbian, and I am confident that none of them would ever consider me to be a homophobe. In fact, I am even flattered when gay men hit on me. But I'm flattered in the same way that I would be if an unattractive woman were to hit on me. I enjoy the compliment, but would never act upon it.

Sure, most (if not all) straight men (who watch porn) would prefer to see a more endowed male having intercourse with an attractive female, but this goes back to what 9"/180 said about empathy. They watch it because they imagine what it would be like for them to BE the male actor in the porno and, of course, would prefer to imagine themselves as the more virile choice. And because they want to imagine what it would be like to BE that actor, not because they want to be taken by that actor.

All right. Everyone needs to stop getting all defensive because they think they are 100% one way, or cuz they think u can't be 100% one way. No matter how much you argue, it's impossible to know for sure what another person feels. I personally think that every man and woman will have fantasies about the same sex. These threads annoy me because I know I myself hate having my sexuality constantly questioned, picked at and denied. Sorry Virginia, there are 100% straight guys. Not all straight guys like or even care about big-cock straight porn. Joke or not, the premise is false.

I know because I am 100% gay. The 1% straight is a token symbol I put in to show open-mindedness, for the same reason many straight guys put 1% gay. I know a lot of gay members here get pissed off at the "why don't you fags like pussy" threads - why should we expect the double-standard to be OK?

I know a lot of people say labels suck, they're constraining and misleading, etc. But I agree with DC Deep. That might be true for you, but for some of us the "labels" are accurate. When you talk about sexual flexibility, fluidity, etc., that may accurately describe you and many people; but to universalize that to everyone is just as incorrect as saying everyone is either all straight or all gay.

I, too, know that I am 100% Gay. But I also know that we are the rare exception to the rule, AS ARE the 100% Straight. I don't give that 1% for open-mindedness because I'd rather be truthful about myself. I have never desired or fantasized about women. The only time in which I looked at straight porn was when I couldn't get Gay porn yet. And when I have looked at straight porn, I only look at the guys. The sight of the women completely turns me off.

I understand there are straight men out there who also fit this, in the opposite. But as I said earlier, we of the 100% ARE THE EXCEPTION, not the rule. The fluidity of sexuality for most is why the 1% is there as an option. But as I stated earlier, if more people could even think about it openly as in the original joke, the world would be better off.
