This year I have noticed -
My metabolism has slowed down.
My sex drive has slowed down.

I am a little concerned but maybe it's normal. I still get horny but not like last year. Before I would get an erection at the drop of a hat. Now I can still get aroused but not without actually seeing someone play with themselves. I still wank but less often, every second or third night whereas before it was every day. I struggle more in the gym too and my workouts are more difficult with poorer results to show. Maybe it's my diet. I tend to overdo carbs and eat less protein, vegetables so maybe this is the reason. I used eat more of the latter before.

Getting old sucks. I am afraid to go to the doctor in case it is thyroid. I have never really had a partner so am disappointed that my sex life is dwindling and that when I was at my peak I was just having hookups. I tend to still look for hookups but they don't happen as I am not really interested when I actually hit the steam or sauna. Any advice?

It happens. Men go through a phase where our bodies produce less testosterone than we did before. You could ask your physician about replacement therapy, just be sure to discuss benefits and possible side effects too. I had some that were good, and others that were not. Keeping the weight down and eating a better diet helps a lot too.

It's called andropause. Testosterone peaks around age 28 and begins a long slow decline. By age 56 (my age) men have one third to one half less testosterone they had at 28. For some men the decline is faster, for others slower. If your symptoms are severe see your GP and get a blood workup. Lifestyle factors like smoking, diet and being sedentary and overweight may contribute to symptoms.

I’m going to see a doctor tomorrow about testosterone therapy. I’m 59 and can get an erection but can’t maintain it. Last time I tried to fuck a guy, in the time it took to get the condom on, I was soft. I also had a guy come over who wanted to suck me. Started out nice and hard, his mouth on my cock felt really good, but I got soft after a few minutes. Very frustrating. Also, I used to have a hairy ass and legs. That’s no longer the case. I’m hopeful testosterone therapy — if indeed my levels are low — will help.

Out of curiosity, did you get your cock hard again for him to finish sucking you off? Also, when you're jerking off, would you able to keep your cock hard all the time until you cum? Having low T can be a bitch for lots of guys, but other things may have causing this too.

No, unfortunately my cock didn’t get hard again for him to finish me off. And when jerking off, I can stay hard enough to cum. It requires some effort, but still feels awesome.

I'm 66 and have always been active. I walk a lot and play some team sports (not now, of course :-(.

I eat fresh fruits and veggies daily and get exercise (walking, hiking, gardening) almost every day.

I'm still able to achieve a hard-on in short order, whether self-stimulated or wife-aided. I, fortunately, am not on any meds.

Some of what we experience is genetically pre-disposed. Some people simply have better genes. The best thing we can do is to work at being healthy by eating right, exercising, maintaining a healthy mental attitude.

See your doctor. If it is your thyroid it needs to be corrected so you can live a long life and fuck a lot. If it is testosterone there are shots you can take to bring your levels up to normal. I have been taking testosterone shots for 18 years, and they helped me keep up with my hot swing partner who was 20 years younger. We had 11 years of fantastic swing parties. Go after it!
