Okay, I've been a huge Evil Dead/Bruce Campbell fan since I was like 3...

Anway! I as surfing around becuase a while go I heard they were doing an Evil Dead Remake(which isnt true) so I wanted to see if anything else was happening Perhaps Evil Dead IV(No, theres not going to be one...

But there is going to be Evil Dead: The Musical

Idk how good it will be, t's still fairly new, but I do plan on seeing it...

I know it won't have Bruce Campbell, and I think that may break it...

    What do you guys think?

I think that it would be interesting, but I don't think there will be a following. Everyone was so excited about LOTR the muscial, and I don't think it did all that well...

Let them try, people will enjoy it. I will just wait for the film version of the musical's version of the film.

Aye... I think the Non-Bruce Campbell-ness of this Musical will break the deal, BIG TIME!

I've been trying to convince people for years that the chainsaw makes a great musical instrument.
Maybe the addition of flying limbs and a necronomicon will finally convince them.

I am just thinking about the mess... the stage is going ot have to be lined with a removable plastic covering... (stage condom) so the "blood and guts" dont' get everywhere.

And maybe a splatter guard for the audience...?

It might seem like an odd subject for a musical, but who would've thought that the cheesy 1960 movie "Little Shop of Horrors" would've worked in musical re-interpretation? In fact, it worked very well.

A world that can deal with "Jerry Springer: The Opera" should have little difficulty accepting "Evil Dead: The Musical".

Great idea, Alex! You write the libretto, and I'll compose the score!

*and now has an image of the Evil Dead in the basement of the cabin chanting: "Je-r-r-y! Je-r-r-y! Je-r-r-y!"*

I'm guessing Bruce C. can't sing, though, because otherwise he usually seems happy enough to turn up at the opening of an envelope, let alone getting an opportunity to do something like this.

Haven't you seen Xena Warrior Princess!?

He's sang before! He's a decent one too. Besides I dont canre if the world can accept it, I just wanna know if its gonna make me regret liking Sam Raimi.

(I could give a fuck what 3/4s of the fuckers on this planet think or do)

Somehow, it just wouldn;t be a proper musical without Bruce Cambell singing "THis is my boomstick...":biggrin1:

There was a "CARRIE" musical (based on the Stephen King book, film) that bombed despite the excellent Barbara Cook ...

Jerry Springer: The Opera is, without doubt, one of the most brilliant nights in the theatre I've ever spent. ED:TM, I suspect, will be lighter fare.

You cant compare Carrie to Evil Dead, c'mon they're not even the same genre!

Ones comedy and ones Horror! C'mon!

As a diehard Evil Dead fan I will see this musical, but as an Evil Dead fan I'm bound to end up hating it, just like the Evil Dead Video games(excpet the newest one, Bruce Campbell did the voice for it, and so ddi Ted Raimi :p)

I think that makes you an Evil Dead purist, to be specific.

And as for the earlier "Xena: Warrior Princess" question; do you really think I watch fuckin' television? :biggrin1:

Now you're takin' this thread off into the realms of The Rocky Porno Video Show. Which actually seems to fit here thematically, oddly enough --- possibly the first time I've ever been able to say that!
