Exaggerating cock size?

I just wrote something about this on another post too but I wanted to hear what people think. I'm pretty new to the site but I kinda wonder about if the cock sizes people claim here are legit. For me, I'm a legit 6.75 in. long and 5.5 in. circumference. I don't exaggerate. I always figure I'm pretty good in the size dept. and women are usually pleased. Then I come here and everyone's saying they're 9 in. or something. And all the women here say their guy is like 10 in. Yeah I know probably all the hung people come to this site, but I've seen the stats on cock size and I think some people here exaggerate. The numbers don't lie:
1 in 25 men is 8+ inches long
1 in 300 guys is 9+ inches
1 in 4000 guys is 10+ inches

So I'll say here I think a lot of people just add 2X2 to their size when they report it. Rebuttal?

1 in 100 guys 8+ in.
1 in 5000 9+ in.
1 in 1 million 10+ in.
Either way, you get the idea.

I'm sure some people on this site do lie about their size. But I pretty much just choose to assume each person is telling the truth until something causes me to remove that trust such as them claiming a different size somewhere else, or posting obviously fake pictures, or if their supposed size is well above the reported world record LOL. But there are guys who really do tell the truth. I'm one of them.

This site is global, don't forget, and I don't think the number of members here contradicts those figures. Of course, there are some who will exaggerate --- like the teens with 20" and their ilk --- but there are enough verified images from the higher echelons now, as well as pieces of advice offered by larger members which shows evident real-world experience of certain issues ... that to claim all here are fakers is untenable.

edit- your numbers at the end are FAR too generous, especially at the 9" and 10" markers. Over 9" topside non-bonepressed is about 1 in 5,000. Use your imagination for the rest. While NO legitimate research has been done to determine it, by combining data from Kinsey, Durex, and two other studies a while back, we calculated that over 10" may very well be as rare as 1 in a million.

And by the way, I think the original poster's estimate that 1 in 25 is 8+ inches is overly generous. As spoken of in other threads, most members here agree that 8 inches is much rarer...like 1 in 100, or around there.

Alex, I agree with you. However, I don't think anyone was saying all here are fakers. I think that bigschlotsky was making a distinction between fakers and people who exaggerate. Example: someone who is 7.5*5.5 claiming to be 9X6: on the one hand, 7.5*5.5 is definitely well above average, so the guy truly is well-endowed - therefore you could say he is not faker; on the other hand, he felt the need to add some inches to his size, for reasons best explained by other posters. Same for a true 9x6 claiming to be 11X7, etc...
Personally (and I've said this on another thread before), I think that girth is where the stats are least reliable, because adding 1" in length does not make as much of a difference, in terms of statistical deviation from the norm, as adding even 0.5" in girth. I think guys with a true 6.5" in girth are very, very rare (much rarer than you think). I remember madame_zora said something similar. I should know myself: as someone with a 5.75" girth, I've received many comments about my thickness (you can see my pics) - but the point is that this is what a 5.75" girth looks like (at least on me), so this might give you a point of comparison next time someone claims to be 6.5" thick.:wink:

FWIW, My husband is by far the biggest I've ever seen personally. He's 8x6. I'm not the most experienced, I admit, and I haven't measured any others, but my guess is that the next biggest was maybe 7", with all the others probably falling into the 5.5 to 6 range. :wink:

And so you should. There are several different phenomena at work here.

First are the outright liars. They just toss out numbers with no basis in fact. They may not even be male, or adult, or whatever.

Second is ... I don't know what to call it, maybe wishful thinking. This is easy because nobody tries seriously to find a repeatable measurement methodology. Waving a yardstick somewhere near it and picking a number isn't a measurement, it's propaganda. It is possible to make a device (simple, but more elaborate than a plain ruler) to get good and consistent measurements. I've done that, but I've never heard of anyone else even considering it.

Those hardy researchers (Kinsey et al) actually straying into this minefield seem reluctant to give useful details of their methodology. A complication there is that it's not that easy to get the big guys to perform in a clinical setting. Perhaps it has something to do with the physiological resources needed to get something that size inflated. Certainly if I had a bunch of guys in lab coats standing around, it'd be limp-city, and they'd miss out on a good niner.

The third factor is that the photos we see here aren't quantitatively reliable. The typical digital camera has a very short focal length lens, for perfectly good technical reasons. The problem is, the short focal length lenses distort. Badly. Photographers call it perspective distortion, and it has nothing to do with the technical quality of the lens. It's inherent in closeup photos, such as most of the gallery shots. Close objects seem far larger than they would to the human eye in person. Put the camera a foot away from the member and it looks like a tree trunk, with a little tiny human body in the background. I won't post any modern digital pic, for that reason - it would be flattering, perhaps, but as much a lie as claiming that it's a 24 incher. If you have any experience with any cameras more elaborate than Brownies or Instamatics or modern digitals, you can spot this right off in the typical photo. Getting further away from the subject gets rid of the perspective distortion, but then the image is awfully small. Also nobody has arms that long (a factor in self-portraits) and the anemic flashes on digital cameras are useless at any realistic distance.
