I think there are still women who would like the traditional home and family with the alleged security of marriage and a husband. It really depends upon one's value system as to how all of this affects one. It may be unfair that women are forced to think so pragmatically if they are ever to even put themselves in the place where these things can happen. Face it, women are born with all of the eggs they will have in life and they only expire from there. So something that has become a running joke for some is of dire importance to others. If they seem a little desperate there is good reason for it. They may see their dream of marriage family and companionship possibly slipping away due to bad timing and abivalent prospects.
