He looks good, but they didn't do that much...He just lost a bit of weight, shaved and got a bit of a tan and a haircut. He hardly needs a group of professionals (or a TV show) dedicated to him...
All he did was show that if you're prepared to put in a bit of work, you can make quite a difference to your appearance in only eight weeks.
The "extreme" refers more to what some guys are willing to do in the name of improving their appearance. At the end of the day, he was happy with his original look and only did the "transformation" because he was being paid for it, but the programme did feature guys who went through lipo, major diets, tummy tucks, facelifts, moob jobs etc.
On the whole, it was your typical light-hearted look at something which for some people can be a serious issue with some good information tucked in with the odd laugh and grimace.
