In Trump's sick ------ twisted Bizarro world, truth is fiction, and fiction... "alternate realities." Bigots and fascists are victims and those AGAINST bigotry and fascism are "terrorists."

In such a world, hate is not hate and crime is not a crime, that is, when committed by privileged individuals presumed "above the law"... ESPECIALLY when (at least according to Trump's shills, sycophants, defenders and apologists)

those of moral integrity, and commitment to duty, country, service, jurisprudence, and the RULE OF LAW don't ALLOW the Criminal in Chief to fkng OBSTRUCT JUSTICE, engage in EXTORTION for political gain, and host a world summit for PROFIT at one of his own resorts.

But the FACT is (contrary to 20% of Wisconsinites who believe it never happened) Trump TRIED to extort a foreign leader by withholding taxpayer dollars in aid to the Ukraine. TRIED until he was busted. Full stop.

So they can TRY to shift the blame, and TRY to pin it all on Rudy (Watch out for that bus!) G., and TRY to spin and soften it up via some bullshit "quid pro quo" terminology. But it is what it IS.

Fuck "quid pro quo." It was EXTORTION... pure and SIMPLE:

"Extortion" always seemed more fitting to me than "bribery." It wasn't "do this, and get a reward"; it was "do this, or else."

I'm inclined to AGREE, Klingsor.

However, just for balance, here is an alternative argument as to why, in the opinion of the author below, Trump's actions more closely fits the legal definition of "bribery."

EITHER way, still more precise and criminally DAMNING that some "quid pro quo" bullshit, I think:

[Trump] is Guilty of Bribery

In some cases, all the above are happening. There is the issue of the Bidens and the 16 elections as well as the withholding promised aid and refusal to meet with Ukraine's president until all conditions were met.

On the US side, there are four or five people speaking for the US

Does Trump meet the criteria to be guilty of quid pro quo?"

Yes!

Does Trump meet the criteria to be guilty of bribery?

Yes!

Does Trump meet the criteria to be guilty of EXTORTION?

When Trump or those acting directly on his orders are guilty of all three separately, it compounds the need to impeach.

Trump became guilty of quid pro quo when he offered to meet Ukraine's president in New York if Ukraine would announce an investigation into the Biden's.

Trump was guilty of bribery and extortion at the same time. Trump's withholding the aid for an investigation of the Biden's was bribery.

The reason that it rose to extortion is that Ukraine needed the meeting with Trump in New York in order to give legitimacy to the Ukraine government. Without that meeting, there was fear on the part of Ukraine that their government might fall.

Look at it this way:

hot quid pro quo
hotter bribery
hottest extortion

A very hot day, hotter than the Arabian Desert, it was hotter than hell.

Bribery and Extortion

At the same time, there are slight differences between the three terms.

I hope the Democrats will use both words bribery and exhortion as well as the term quid pro quo in their formal charges of impeachment. It states a much stronger case.

The corruption and criminality of Trump and his defenders is ALL TOO OBVIOUS. Their complicity, criminal as WELL.

If they get a away with it, and they damned well might, it would set a precedent for EVERYONE who occupies the Oval Office hence, to do LIKEWISE... be they Republican or DEMOCRAT.

Diplomat David Holmes Outlines Corruption, Hypocrisy Of Trump’s Ukraine Shakedown | HuffPost

“While we had advised our Ukrainian counterparts to voice a commitment to following the rule of law and generally investigating credible corruption allegations, this was a demand that President Zelensky personally commit, on a cable news channel, to a specific investigation of Trump’s political rival,” Holmes testified Thursday.

“They can recognize hypocrisy when they see it?” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) asked Thursday.

“It’s hard to explain why we would do that,” said Holmes."
No it ISN'T, Holmes. "Why" is obvious - it's fkng Donald (grab 'em by the pussy) Trump!
MEANWHILE:

Nearly half of voters want Trump impeached and convicted. Trump says everyone's 'reading the wrong polls.'

"Two polls released Sunday (November 3rd) and one on Friday (November 1) all found that 49 percent of voters want Trump both impeached and removed from office.

In a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Sunday, the 49 percent support for impeaching and convicting Trump and 46 percent opposition is a reversal from a month ago, when 43 percent backed impeachment/removal and 49 percent said no."

How is it that the defenders of deplorable haven't show up here yet vomiting out FOX FAKE News garbage?

Each day the story changes. Trump is incoherent most days and even Foxy News can't align their gaslighting with his. Last week's Fox and Friends interview was about as crazy as you can get and still keep a straight face. Then there's the problem that he self-incriminates almost hourly. In the end it always ends up "Yeah I did it." but so what Hillary or Obama did it too lie.
