Facebook hacked! (Rant/help?)

So my Facebook was hacked yesterday. Apparently Facebook was sending me emails asking me if I made theses changes & I didn’t see them until after. The hacker was able to change my email & phone number attached to my account. I tried following the links those emails sent me… But it just wants me to login first. Facebook “Help Center” isn’t help at all. Although one of those email I received did have the new email it was changed to…. So I do have the hackers email address. I tried using the email in the “forgot password” But it’s just going to send them the password code. So that was a dead end. Also Facebook doesn’t have customer service… they have a help center online. So it’s either you know someone at fb or you’re out of luck. Lol

Has this happened to anyone?

FB is a breeding ground for that sort of stuff. The internet is full of not so nice things, BUT... the good parts keep us cumming back for more. Sorry mate! FB sucks (not in a good way).

FWIW I moderate a few FB groups/pages and in the past few days, I've seen an infestation of fake, presumably hacked accounts. I doubt someone named "Doris" is using a porn actor as their profile photos and posting events and links for sex chats, hook-ups, etc. I believe a vast majority of FB users don't know or use the security features, click on dangerous links and sites, then whatever they catch, spreads to their Friends and it continues on.

Many of my photos have been stolen off of Facebook and used elsewhere including this site. There was a member, who's long gone now, who had a photo of me as his girlfriend. Just wow.

I've also been stalked on Facebook by another member on here. That's scary as hell. He even found my volunteer organization and asked some of the members about me.

Because of that my Facebook account is now locked down tighter than a submarine. I only use it for family info, and those are the only folks allowed in. I don't need to see memes and daily prayers, and my family generates enough Q Anon nonsense to last a lifetime.

I won't be of help with this idea... But get off FB. I left it over a year ago. My anxiety issues have calmed a lot. My blood pressure is now normal again. I can't tell you how many times I've had a recovery email sent to me from them because of someone trying to hack my profile. Add to that, being a bit of a political nerd... It was a recipe for disaster over the last few years. Same with Twitter. I do miss a couple of my moderated groups I followed. But not the chaos.
