Why do people keep saying Obama is going to raise taxes because he's a "socialist" when it's a plain and undeniable fact that most people are getting a tax cut? Ask any accountant.

This legislation was opposed by every single Republican because the richest 2% of the country weren't in on this tax cut. The teabaggers are still upset, of course, since this is somehow more evidence of "socialism".

The irony of a Tea Party protest in a year everyone's taxes got cut, as opposed to Bush's cuts which went disproportionately to people who had boatloads of money, is too much for me.

Meanwhile, taxes are at their lowest levels in 60 years, according to William Gale, co-director of the Tax Policy Center and director of the Retirement Security Project at the Brookings Institution. "The relation between what is said in the tax debate and what is true about tax policy is often quite tenuous," Gale told Hotsheet. "The rise of the Tea Party at at time when taxes are literally at their lowest in decades is really hard to understand."

Apparently Obama's tax rate did not go down, but his income went up. He and Michelle paid $1.8M on income of $5.5M, that a rate of 30%. Talking the talk, and walking the walk.

Something I want to know... when did the IRS get so smart? I called them asking about a clarification on student loan interest deductions, and the lady knew to remind me about the form I have to file because I receive regular payments through a foreign trust. How in the fuck did she know that? Do they now see what you filed last year or something?

Hmmmm. . . I'm not complaining nor do I doubt that between 95% or 98% of US citizens paid less taxes to the IRS in 2009 than in 2008. I, somehow, paid more. But not a lot more. Business keeping the cowboys and miners drunk in Nevada has been good. Food service sales are up, too.

But the Tea Bag people will never admit the truth once they figure out they have paid less to the IRS than last year. No one ever likes to admit he or she is wrong. Just look at the He/She and Holy It as a perfect example of how wrong one can be and ignore the truth.

That would be a neat trick considering that 40% of Americans don't even pay income taxes.

^Cute how you ignore the fact that many of those 40% didn't pay taxes this year because Obama cut their taxes.

Personally, I think you're jealous... And personally, I could give a shit less. Why don't you cry about it some more? I haven't laughed much yet today, and that would certainly do the trick.

If you look at the chart - even under Bush in 2004, over 32% of filers didn't pay any taxes.

The Tax Foundation - Number of Americans Outside the Income Tax System Continues to Grow

Now - explain to me again how 98% of Americans recieved a tax cut under Obama?

It is another lie/misrepresentation put forth by the Obama publicity machine.

It will never end with this guy. He is a liar and a con artist, pure and simple.

Those who don't make enough to pay INCOME tax had their PAYROLL taxes decreased.
