Welp, they used the term "badder" on the Bad Santa special edition DVD, so who knows, it may just come into popular use. Something a bit like "truthiness." BTW, is "welp" a proper word?

Damn me for picking up word usage from the internet.:biggrin: I've always seen it used as, and assumed it was, a casual way of saying 'well'.

Well, if we can't edify each other, and learn from each other, we may as well all log out, am I right?

This is so disgusting.

It bugs the shit out of me when butch or 'straight-acting' gay guys pretend they are better in the eyes of homophobes and gay-bashers than the queenish or 'feminine-acting' gay guys. I've got news for you, you aren't!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!! If someone had not all ready said it I was going to.

It aggravates the piss out of me as well. So you think that because you can walk with out a swish and hold your pinky correctly while you drink a soda. So what...doesn't make one a better person.

What's the problem with being flamboyant, I know many straight men, straight women and lesbians who are flamboyant, it only seeems to be viewed as negatively when it's attached to a gay male?

There are loads of women, particularly in the media, from Carmen Miranda, Phyllis Diller, Marilyn Monroe, I could name millions, they're all flamboyant and it's seen as a good thing, often as one of the qualities that is desirable in a female role model, it's seen as a sign of strength and confidence, would the haters of male flamboyance hate them, no it's only an outward expression of their insecurity towards other men that makes them hate anyone who chooses to express flamboyance, it can be seen as larger than life, confident, bright so it's a natural characteristic for the fearful to fear. If a man is truly at ease with himself why the fuck would he care if anyone was dressed like Liberace on a girls's night out?

"Can" walk without a swish, or "choose to" walk without a swish? I'm not saying I'm better or worse, but I don't have those super-emphasized characteristics. I've often wondered if it's innate or affectation to lisp, swish, and gesticulate.

What's the problem with being flamboyant, I know many straight men, straight women and lesbians who are flamboyant, it only seeems to be viewed as negatively when it's attached to a gay male?
For me, it's not a problem, I just find it very unattractive.

And no one needs to attack and tell me that my attraction parameters are homophobic. I tend to be attracted to masculine, rather than effeminate men; I tend to be more attracted to brunettes, but that doesn't mean I have anything against blonds and redheads.

There's nothing wrong with finding anything unattractive, I personally find flamboyance in a male friend less attractive than what would be viewed as traditional manly behaviour, but I think it's unfair that some people seem to view flamboyance as something that's only seen in gay men, if i go out tarted up to the nines I'm just told I'm a show off and my friends laugh, there's nothing negative about it. We should all be able to choose what characteristics we like without someone's sexuality playing a part in them, flamboyance isn't only found in gay males.

Well, you also do not go about starting threads about how horrible certain gays are, just because they are themselves. You'd be friends with someone effeminate. You just wouldn't drool over him.

There's far too much common sense being posted here tonight. What gives?

True enough. But I had to put in the disclaimer, because most of the time, if I mention that I find masculine men attractive, but not effeminate men, I get flamed and accused of being a self-loather and homophobia. Yes, I'm friends with quite a number of very nelly men.
