"faguar" the gay equivalent of "cougar"???

I first saw this term "faguar" in print today referring to older (40 plus) gay males pursuing much younger males and it is supposedly the equivalent to "cougar" hetero females of the same age pursuing younger guys

Is this really in popular usage? Is it considered a slur or offensive?

I'd never heard of it. Comments?

I never heard the term before so I don't know what it's intended connotations are, but it sounds hilarious. Not quite as funny as "faggernaut" but funny nonetheless.
