That's as discriminatory and generalizing as if I said "Arabs really are as insane as blacks." Absolutely disgusting, but because you're attacking religion and not race it's ok in the little black book of "liberal" political correctness guidelines.

I don't know of any well-formed Christian group or branch that goes around terrorizing the world. Nor do I know any Christian group that makes women dress a certain way without the fear of being killed or raped. In saying this, does that mean there aren't any nutcase groups associated with Christianity? Hardly.

Large-scale, double-blind studies conclusively showed that intercessory prayers were not effective in post-surgical rehabilitation.

With luck they will be just as ineffective in Christian-style fatwas.

Whoa, I realize that you were just trying to prove how ludicrous Hung Jon's statement was; but rarely do blacks organize long enough to terrorize a nation. A more apt analogy would have been "Arabs really are as insane as the IRA."

Well the original poster cared, so did the news organizations, and you cared enough to respond
The original poster made note that the preacher is a posterchild for the religious nutcase anti-Obama fringe.
He's right. Now all we need is for all those militia nuts who have been stocking up on ammo and guns because they think the POTUS is gonna repeal the 2nd Amendment to join forces with this alleged man of God.

Anyway back to what the OP was saying. A preacher praying for death? Isn't that just wrong? If it were Obama or your next door neighbor or even for a dictator, a preacher praying for the death of someone is repugnant. The preacher walks a very fine line between free speech and threat, if you ask me.
As I mentioned in a previous post, that man is not even close to being a Christian! Anyone, with any sense of spirituality, knows that you never pray for bad to happen to someone else. Cause that's when Karma steps in and gives you what you wished for the other guy. :yup:

True. I shoulda reversed the terms. But like you realized, the groups used are irrelevent really.

As the timeworn cliche would have it: "Its the thought that counts."
