I understand it's probably hard for cis-people (and some trans-binary people) to understand, but yes, there are some trans-people that do not do any medical or esthetical transitions and still identify as another gender than the one they were assigned at birth. The concept is that gender is a construct, has nothing to do with the genitalia or sexual attributes that your body "naturally" displays. Moreso, trans-non-binary people do not owe androgyny traits to anyone, just like (trans/cis)women don't owe anyone feminity, nor (trans/cis)men masculinity. Hard to grasp, i know! I myself, as a non-binary amab that lived a good part of their life as a cis gay man, have trouble understanding it even for myself, so i can understand that other people who don't even live with these questions may not understand it at all...
