This topic came up in another thread and so I thought I'd bring it here - what are your favorite world cuisines?

I love hot and spicy food - my favorites are Indian, Ethiopian, Mexican, Thai, etc. I also love Greek, Middle Eastern and Japanese food (especially love sushi with wasabi!). Jamaican jerk chicken is very good too.

I have also tried West African food, and love that as well. I used to know the owner of a West African restaurant where I used to live. He was also a musician doing Nigerian music - and we'd have some chats about that. Many times I have surprised Africans by knowing the musicians from their countries. I've had similar chats with people from Senegal and Zimbabwe.

I've always said that good music and good food are two of my three favorite things in life.

Mainly Italian, something about it just makes me exquisitely happy.

Would also be in the mood for Schezuan style Chinese food-- if neither of those choices are available I'll stick with a juicy cheeseburger done medium with mozzarella cheese, sauteed onions and some strips of crispy bacon (but whatever you do, don't soil it with ketchup--I despise ketchup on burgers).

Tell you what--give me a sampling of each and I'll get back to you.

    Mediterranean. Vague I know, sorry.

Also, most things spicy, Indian, and thai especially. Vietnamese is yummy.

West African is great too, East African a bit less so, save for Mozambique and Southern Zambia but....so is Schezuan and so it goes on....

I give up....my favourite varies from day to day.

I love Greek food, on the two weekends a year that the local Greek Orthodox church has its festival I'm the happiest guy alive. I also like non-sushi Japanese food, authentic Mexican, Italian, Thai, and anything spicy.

Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Indian, and Greek. However, my favorite dish is probably a nice big steak with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, asparagus, and some steamed vegetables. Pretty big dish. Or steamed crabs with old bay seasoning. Now I'm hungry.

I always crack up over the name Spotted Dick. I know what it is - bread pudding with raisins. First time I saw a can of that I said "They have medications for that". :biggrin1:

First choice would be most almost any far-east cuisine - Chinese, Japanese (especially sushi), Korean, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, Thai, Burmese (Myanmarian?)... I could eat that stuff forever and not get tired of it, and eastern-style cooking is what I prefer to do in the kitchen...

Many other types of cuisine I really like, but can tire of easily. Eastern European (especially Polish and Hungarian) are delicious, and northern/southern Italian/Sicilian is good, too.
