White Zombie- Bela Lugosi (1922)
SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!! I've got that on my TiVo right now just haven't gotten around to watching it. I wonder how many other people know about it?
PHANTASM!!!! Hands down.
Saw kicks so much ass. The whole "I want to play a game" cracks me up every time. I just went to see the fourth installment in the theater with a lady friend, and for even her to say she thought it was cool, well, I'm sold.
It's a shame I don't have fifty grand burning a hole in my pocket:
SAW II III IV 2 3 4 HERO ANIMATRONIC BILLY PUPPET PROP - (eBay item 190166283485 end time Nov-02-07 18:00:00 PDT)
The Hunger - Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie
I like The Ring! Thats pretty freaky.
Silent Scream and House of Wax are the shittest Horror films ever.
Watch it. Its amazing:smile: Rob Zombie named his group after this film. Many people know about this movie
Yes and amazing film. I forgot about this one.
Going on a tangent, I watched an HGTV show about homes some of the horror movies were filmed at. Many are filmed in real homes and homeowners move out for 2 or 3 days while the filming takes place. The show also interviewed the homeowners. The title was "Reel Homes, Real Scary".
I watched it on HGTV "high definition" but I figure it ran on the standard channel as well. Being Halloween, it might be rerun rather soon. Look for it!
Friday the 13th. Jason is the evilest and best villian known to man. Fact.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
can't fucking beat it.
Hallowen is a close second.. and thats what i voted for here
The shinning for me, read the book... well half the book, it freaked me out so I stopped reading it. Then Halloween saw that film on video round a mates, it was the first film I saw on video, and the movie had been recorded off t.v. I remember trying not to jump behind the sofa!!! I was so scaredThen the Omen, WoW the bit in graveyard with the dogs ARHHH another classic scene. Aliens after that, although the film never frightened me too much, but it was just such a good sci-fi film for it's day. The others in the list didn't impress me too much. Then of course the memories of all those black&white horror movies when I was a kid, they used to be on late on Saturday night! (you know curse of the warewolf, the mummy etc.)Of course last but not least have you guys seen that all time classic 'The Fearless Vampire Killers' what a hoot that film is. I remember laughing so much as a kid watching that movie! ahh memories!
All bar two of those poll options are pretty bad films and they're certainly not frightening. Hmmph.
Yeh, I'm the Halloween Grinch. Sue me. Or go watch a poorly produced horror movie.
I preferred The Corpse Vanishes
The Devil Bat!
The Anniversary Party or Happiness for the Katakuris. The Basketball Diaries and Requiem for a Dream are pretty shocking as well
I'm not sure it counts as horror (comedy maybe?) but I like Evil Dead 2.
The Haunting - the original one, it was extremely atmospheric and menacing.
I picked Carrie out of the ones listed. I just love Piper Laurie's character. But, I can't really say that I have an absolute favorite horror movie. If I had to pick just one it would probably be Night of the Demons, which is an eighties horror movie by the guys who brought you Witchboard. It has all the right mix of horror, humor and sex.
