Liked HOT FUZZ quiet a bit, bought the video of it and watcheed it a lot more. Pity that it didn't wake up American Audiences. Simon Pegg is slated to be in the next STAR TREK film, playing Scottie. I've seen the makeup for Spock (played by the guy who plays Sylar in HEROES) and it's very good.

I don't recall seeing one good movie this year.

I can't remember the last time I saw a good comedy. 40 year old virgin did not even make me laugh.

Usually I ask for a DVD for Christmas of a good movie that is released before the holidays, but this year nothing was good.

The only good movie I saw this year was Pan's Labyrinth, but that was from 2006

One video I got last year was pretty good. The family rewatched it over the weekend. It's called THE HOGFATHER, based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.

Techniquely, not a film, but a BBC serial. And very well done. It just got released stateside for region 1 players. Look for it.

PAN LABYRINTH was indeed a good film, but I wouldn't find its darkness and pain worth too many visits.

I have yet to see those but they are on my potential list! :biggrin1: I also want to see American Treasure. I wanted to like Elizabeth but it was too much of a strain! LOL!

Sweeney Todd is on my MUST SEE list, ASAP. :biggrin1:

No Country For Old Men is probably the best I have seen this year. The tension and suspense (and despair) in that movie blows the hell out of any "scary" movie I've seen in years.

Hairspray.... great goofy fun, turned up to 11. :biggrin1:

    Bourne Supremacy....

    300 (great in Imax)...

I am Legend was good, but fell apart in its last act, and the the de-emphasis on Neville as the story's ultimate antagonist is completely gone. Still, the first majority of the movie was awesome in its depiction of atmosphere and Will Smith's performance.

I thought that it was a kid's movie until I saw how violent it was.... especially when that guy's face gets turned into a mixing bowl.

The only movies I can remember watching from 2007 are 300 and Die Hard 4 - neither film managed to interest or entertain me. :frown1:

Last night I saw I am Legend. I was able to download it, and it was a DVD quality screener copy with German subtitles. It was only 412 MB. Sometimes I download a movie and the quality is so bad that I can not tell what is going on in the movie, especially Hostel, it was dark and grainy.

I am Legend was the best movie I saw this year.

I can't believe you put Bug down as a favorite movie of 2007.

That scene with Ashley Judd sitting naked in that motel room will go down in cinematic history. "The bugs are everywhere!" Girl please, you thought the Anti-Freeze was Koolaid.

I like all but that particular one you noted.
