Viewing Requiem for a Dream for the first time in full.... Ouch, mah brainz!

I've tried watching that one. Can't seem to get too far. Disturbingly depressing mainly because I can see myself in that role so easily. Having a very addictive behavior sucks sometimes.

Netflix account... I have no idea what you are talking about :wall:

I need to find some Sci-Fi films that I haven't seen yet. The Aliens Trilogy, Blade Runner, and a couple other big titles can only be watched so many times in a year.

I feel like I am getting into a stagnation phase where I can't find good movies I haven't seen yet. :34:

I find it really hard to find good movies that I want to watch again. The only ones that spring to mind at the moment are:

Godfather I & II
Alien/s
Dangerous Liaisons
The Money Pit (not sure if I would find it as funny now)
Ruthless People (again, not sure if I would find it as funny now)
Ghostbusters
Iron Man (just luuuurve Robert Downey Jnr)
Usual Suspects

Tbh I'm more likely to pick up a dvd box set when I want to watch something... I'm itching to re-watch The Tudors and Sons of Anarchy, but I just don't have the time at the moment :(

I just finished watching Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger.

Moxie, have you seen Dark City? I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard good things about it, and it's been on my list of things to watch for a while now.

Hopefully I didn't give a bad blind recommendation. Let me know what you think if you do watch it.

Some movies I enjoy watching multiple times are Pulp Fiction, Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace, V For Vendetta, Sherlock Holmes, 3:10 to Yuma, The Bourne Trilogy, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Layer Cake, and SFII: The Animated Movie. The last one is definitely because of my love of the series and nostalgia.

I've also been getting into kung fu films lately, so I'll probably start picking up some of those movies in the future.

second on Dark City. is a real good flicker.

adding

Re-Cycle
District 9
12 Monkeys
Primer
Renaissance
Hardware
Natural City
2046

some favorites, not as action-sci-fi as Aliens/Bladerunner, each is well worth watching.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch :196:

I love that film so much, it's on my top 10.

Off the top of my head I'm thinking:

Rocky
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Blade Runner (One of the only good Philip K Dick adaptations)
Alien(only the first 2)
The Thing
Evil Dead 2
Rocky Horror Picture Show(of course)
Dawn of the Dead (1977)
Born to Boogie

That's my immediate top 10, it changes frequently.

And yeah, I'm having trouble finding "new" movies that I like.
Especially ones that are actually new.

Not sure if you guys like foreign films, but my parents have just recommended a Korean film, if you guys like action/thrillers you should check out "Old Boy". Any of you guys have any other foreign films or maybe documentaries? Watched "The Bridge" the other day and it was pretty damn depressing, but interesting at the same time.

Btw, all these movies are great! I've seen some of the ones you guys have listed, but I'll have to IMDB the rest and go from there! :D

So many classics. Modern movies just can't even compare to the Golden Age of Hollywood specifically the 1930's and 1940's. The Maltese Falcon's my favorite movie though and I definitely mean the John Huston version and not the two 1930's versions even though both of those are fun to watch. (How strange that I absolutely hate remakes yet my favorite movie of all time is a remake.) Bogie as Sam Spade and Mary Astor as Brigid O'Shaugnessey are both excellent and the film is tragic, funny, and suspenseful all at once. Great characters and character actors populating the movie as well. Powerful ending too. "All we got is maybe I love you and maybe you love me."

Being There

I like lots of movies, maybe I will mention a few more later...but this one stands out as a classic for me...perhaps because I aspire to be like the main character one day.

I like to watch.
