This might be a stretch for this site, but I'm interested in what folks have discovered in this ever-expanding archive of amazing performances. I'll watch yours if you watch mine! Although the singer is not my fave and the two songs are normally quite boring, this is the most mind-blowing performance I've yet found:
YouTube - Anita O'Day

The audience starts out with expressions that say "what the fuck IS this?" but by the end they adore Anita. And the audience shots are fantastic-- I was obsessed by sunglasses as a toddler and this reminds me why. If this thread dies without a single person adding a clip, that is OK but I do hope at least one person clicks on this link. I watch it and see the toddlers in the audience, and wish my parents would have taken me to events like this at the age of three.

I really like this one: What Else Is There.
The music is by the Norwegian band Röyksopp,
the vocal is by a Swedish girl named Karin Dreijer Andersson, and
the video is directed by a Danish guy called Martin de Turah.
-Truly a Scandinavian project.

Oh, btw. If you want it more techno-style, listen to the Trentemøller remix. Wicked sound...

With you on this. MTV, VH1 and BET don't show music videos so I get it all via youtube.com!

Here's my favorite one, being that father's day is close I play it so I don't get those blues.

HAD NO DADDY GROWING UP Teairra Marie

DMX "What's my name" this reminds me of my college days, had my ride, so it cool to play it when I rode alone.

Tori Amos is embarrassed by this period of her music career but I LOVE IT - in a completely non-ironic way! She refers to it as rock-chick but I don't hear any rock at all - it's got that unmistakable 80's-dance-pop sound which I was (and still am) such a huge fan of. I only found this last year (I was aware of YKTR but I had never actually heard any of it) but I know I would have absolutely worshipped it had I known about it at the time (87-88-89?). I don't think it was ever released in Australia - a shame because I really believe it would have done well here. It's like Tiffany or Debbie Gibson but a lot edgier and I think the video was directed by Marty Callner who did most of Stevie Nicks (another absolute favourite of mine) 80's clips. As much as I love the style of music Tori is most famous and well-loved for, I also love YKTR just as much, even if it makes her cringe.
