Ok, lets jump on the favorite band wagon.

Whats your favorite song which would be considered obscure?

I would have to say that one of my all time favorites is
Jet Boy Jet Girl by Elton Montello.
And of course I think GWAR rules!!!!!

Everything I listen to is obscure. It's a mixture of trance, house, drum and bass, funk, and jazz.

"A Young Man Is Gone" - The Beach Boys

The band isn't obscure but I haven't been able to find that song anywhere.

Mondo obscure: Idea by LMNOP. Although LMNOP was an American band (or, more accurately, a solo act with occasional assistance), their second album Pony did not get a US release. I special-ordered it, hoping it'd be as good as their first album, and it turned out to be even better.

Some of my favorite 'obscure' (in the US at least) artists: Matthew Good (Band), Happy Rhodes, Marillion, Katrina and the Waves (Edge of the Land was an outstanding album by a band who was pigeonholed by their one hit), Bob Mould.

    And while I'm at it:

Artist that you probably wouldn't expect a nerdy 40-ish fag to love, but he does: OutKast.

I believe Bloodrock 2 was the first 8-track tape I bought after buying my first car in 1970. Haven't thought about that in years. Definitely wore it out.

    "Christiansands" by Tricky and.....

    "Fucker" by Eels.

    Came home tonight
Felt like I'd die of loneliness
    Strange you think
    Popularity

    Looking for a simple life
    Life ain't simple
I'm tired and sick but I
    Don't wanna be alone

    I'll go to a party
But I don't really want to
For now I'm sitting out here on my porch
    Writing in the dark air
    Listening to
    My little black cat miaow

Trying to vent some of the terrible passion
    That's coursing through me
    Something about you
    Something about spending the afternoon
    Asleep in your arms

    I hate you...Fucker
