The Eight is Enough theme sounds dated now, but it's actually a lovely song.
Eight Is Enough Theme Song

Yes, a lovely song, but I was busy having a huge crush on Grant Goodeve who played the oldest Brother. He was SO dreamy! He hosts a local show here in the Seattle area called, "Northwest Backroads" and he still looks pretty good!

I have a backroad he can investigate...

Yes, he still looks good. Alas, he's a Christian.

NRB plans Christian super-network

I'll stick with Dick Van Patten (I have a thing for older men with receding hairlines)
couple of years ago I was visiting someone who lived about three houses from Van Patten on Magnolia Ave in Van Nuys. He was getting his mail from the mailbox. His age, unfortunately, is showing.

" Once upon a time there were three little girls who went to the police academy " loved the opening to that one if anyone can guess it

Loved Angie Dickinson in Policewoman the opening theme tune was brill.

High Chaperall.
Agreed with CHiP's theme as mentioned earlier.

I was just thinking of the Addams Family theme song when I saw this thread!

The Jeffersons is also a great theme song

For instrumental themes, it's hard to beat Doctor Who, although I also like the themes for Twin Peaks, Miami Vice, and Hawaii Five-O.

One of my favorite theme songs (and shows!) is Red Dwarf:

Taxi
A Man Called Ironside
The Rockford Files
The Saint [original series with Roger Moore]
The Prisoner
The Avengers
Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
Man In A Suitcase
Joe 90

crikey, there must be loads of Greats that I can't put my finger on right now...

Yes, the Saint too...forgot that one. I named two of the ones you noted above. Especially The Prisoner closing credits and Avengers opening:

I am such a nerd, but I admit that the Happy Days theme song(after it changed its "Rock Around The Clock" them) is so damn catchy. Damn, I am such a nerd.
