It wouldn't matter if this one's cooking sucked. Truth is, she seems pretty damn good.

The first time I saw Giada's (sp?) cooking show they were playing porno music in the background. I grabbed my bf to laugh hysterically with me. OMG, I thought, "they finally joined the food channel with soft porn". Great advertising!

I'm not much of a cook, but I do enjoy the shows, on occasion. I love the perfect characterization of Paula Dean "Now all, I'm gonna take 2 sticks of butter..." She must hold a large stock option in Lipitor.

Tyler is kinda hot, now and again. He has, lately, gained what looks to be too much weight (as opposed to muscle). But maybe it's his loose fitting clothes that fool me (right). I won't deny I tune in to his show in hopes of seeing a little of him below the kitchen counter. But that, and the fact that he slurs his words, keeps me unfocused on his methods of cooking.

That commando chef occasionally has some good food ideas. But I suspect their pretty tasteless.

The two gay guys who make finger foods for parties can be amusing. But too often I'm often wondering if they are lovers off air (ie who's really putting the cream cheese into the pitted olive?). My own OCD thoughts.

By far I appreciate Rachael Ray the most: She uses appliances I have, she is extremely enthusiastic, she communicates well. I have tried some of her recipes for me and friends, and they are tasty (even though it takes me one hour (plus some) per dish. I wish I could be as crafty in the kitchen.

Excuse me for getting a bit off the subject... I didn't know of Giada De Laurentiis, or the "suck-u-lent" looking Rachael Ray... don't watch cooking shows. But we watch these home improvement shows, and I have to confess, I "gots the hots" for Tanya Memme (Sell This House). And I had a thing for perky Paige Davis (Trading Spaces) too.

"Tool time" indeed.

But she doesn't really eat the food, you notice? She fries damn' near everything (and in the worst oil for frying) and eats a bite of everything but obviously is done after that. And she'd have to be. Unless she moves into the gym, and sleeps while using the elliptical trainer she can't eat every day what she swears is everyday.

How come no one has mentioned Alton Brown?

Well, for a while I don't visit the food netwoorks but I'm starving right now...mmm....

But as thinking about being invited to a particular kitchen and having a feast in my mind pop ups Paula Deen...I like her down to earth personality, warmth, delicious dishes and of course her soons...:biggrin1:

And about you?

I LOVE Paula Deen as well. And her sons? OMG! Mmm... Bobby is dark and handsome and my favorite but Jamie is a cute blue-eyed whiteboy! I watch their show (Road Tasted) every Tuesday night.

I, like others, loved Julia Child! She was the most wonderfully unpretentious great chef ever. I still watch episodes of her last series on PBS every Saturday. I never tire of them!

Others have mentioned Top Chef and I would like to add my affinity for Harold from last season. He is soo cute!

My brother thinks Rachael Ray is hot and has a "fat ass!":biggrin1: I watch her sometimes even though she kind of gets on my nerves.

Others that I like are: Giada from Everyday Italian, Nigella Lawson from Nigella Bites, Mary Ann Esposito, Jacques Pepin, Rick Bayless and Ina Garten from the Barefoot Contessa. From a while back: I used to like The Frugal Gourmet's Jeff Smith and I also loved Graham Kerr! Jeff Smith was apparently boffing the underage help if I remember correctly.

That twinge in your intestines
I confess that I watch her show, but I get so distracted that I forget the recipes. The camera is glued to her tits -- not that that is bad thing.

*I* am glued to her tits. She is one of the sexiest women alive and her recipes, while simple, are quality.

The other one who rings my bell is Nigella Lawson. Her recipes are often crap, but I pop wood whenever any of her shows come on.

But it was Julia who taught me to love cooking. The best cooking advice I ever got was when she said to get good at every aspect of kitchen work, from cleanup to sharpening cutlery. Good cooks are pretty common, but people who understand how to do it all are rare, and they produce better food.

Rachael Ray is not fit to carry out Julia's garbage. She is vapid and has a grating voice. I find her singularly annoying. She also has had plastice surgery on her face to make her more presentable.

They should have given her some tits while they had her asleep.

Julia Child is without comparison, which is not to say I don't indulge in watching a slew of others, new and old.

Before it was discovered he had a thing for young boys, I always enjoyed watching Paul Smith flail around in the kitchen--as much for the history lesson as the food.

Loyal Martha fan (control needs).

Two Fat Ladies!

Barefoot Contessa. Love her casual Hamptons air (only the best anti-depressants will do).

Paula Deen. The Southern mom I secretly wish I had. Casserole credibility. Big hunky sons.

Rachel Ray--too perky. Giada on the other hand--captivating food porn. The sexy music right before she tastes, the closeups, the sound--fucking hot.

I love to cook and have been doing so since I was in junior high. Cook books to me are like the great American novel....will buy a bunch of them and read them from cover to cover...have over 300 of them and yes I do cook using those recipes.
Having said that I love the cooking shows but see them more for the entertainment value rather than anything else.
Paula Dean and her sons are fun, Duff from the Ace of Cakes show is totally whacked and has a great sense of fun, Bobbie Flay is well just so darn full of himself it gets to be annoying. Rachael Ray is perky but her voice is annoying, love Giada DeLaurentiis because she is Italian and she is good.
Love Tyler Florence, especially the show where he travelled and learned how different cultures made similar dishes and they created his own based on that. That is my style, I love to research and pull five recipes for the same thing and work from there. Colette the Cake Lady doesn't have a show but oftentimes she pop on on the competition shows and her work and imagination are inspiring. Curtis Stone is the Take Home Chef and that to me says it all just take him home and have fun sex with him. Oh and the NapaStyle guy, my mind is a blank probably because I have blanked him out on purpose, he is so smarmy and sleazy to me...ugh. NIgel Lawson is a domestic goddess but I'd rather just listen to her than try her recipes. She makes it sound so sexy and fun. Oh and as for fun the Two Fat Ladies was a fantastic fun show, miss that one so much. And Alton Brown is great to fill in the technical hows and whys that makes cooking more than just throwing some slop together, although I don't find him sexy. Now as for the Iron Chef America, I am more intrigues and fascinated by the competitors that the Iron Chefs themselves, though I like Chef Cat Cora the best.
Personally, although she has no cooking show, I love Marcella Hazan.
Okay, enough, time to hit the kitchen.
