honestly, there's hardly ever any talk about TV shows on this site. come on, people! i know i'm not the only one out there. i used to love the OC, even though it is dearly departed... right now, i'm going with Desperate Housewives (this season has been fantastic so far) and Pushing Daisies which is a new show on ABC...it's wonderfully quirky and horribly romantic. i've just finished swooning over the last episode...
Buffy's my all time favourite, I watched The OC on dvd and I honestly thought it was dire, mainly a group of empty headed kids doing nothing worth watching.
Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Oddly enough, all three shows make me cry almost every time I watch them. *sigh* I think I need to get laid.
awww...really? hopefully, it wasn't the first season, because that was spectacular. the second slipped in quality but regained itself at the end, and then, there was the horrid third season with some magic moments, and then the wonderful return to greatness which was the fourth season..but alas, that was the last and the shortest. and i used to watch Buffy when i was younger, but there was some fears about Buffy being all occult or something which kinda discouraged most people from watching it where i live...
We're not so bothered about anything being occult here, in fact we usually send our kids to a coven so they don't feel left out. I just didn't like The OC I found Ryan spectacularly boring, the only interesting character in it was Seth, it was as if they'd written a drama by numbers - we have to have the conflicted guy, we have to have the bad guy turned good, we have to have the crooked business man.
i know, i know...but that was the belief down here. Halloween isn't even widely celebrated down here because of people linking it to the occult. (I'm in the Bahamas, btw.) The Christian Counsel is like Big Brother over here. they decide what goes and what doesn't. i don't know why they are allowed so much power...but i will stop there. now THAT is a mini-rant waiting to happen. and with the OC, i love how they mocked themselves and their genre, i love Ben McKenzie (Ryan) because a smile out of him made me melt and i loved Mischa Barton (Marissa) because both of them provided swoon worthy moments and i still can't put my finger on why i find Mischa so beautiful. She's too skinny in my opinion, but i still find her really attractive...
I never got in to the OC or Desperate Housewives - both are hugely popular here in France - dubbed versions of course. I love that - a lot of the time the translations of the English are a lot longer than the time the character is speaking on screen, so you got all these poor French voice over actors blurting out their lines as quickly as they can to make it fit - as a result all the characters sound really frantic most of the time. Cracks me up. I did very much enjoy Buffy in its early days - but found the last couple of seasons tired and forced (although the increase in screentime for a semi-clad James Marsters did make up for that somewhat :redface. I have both UK and French TV channels at the moment and find I watch almost no TV whatsoever anymore - with one exception. I am hopelessly addicted to the revived Doctor Who. I know it is mainly aimed at kids but I don't care - I love it, so much so I even watch the repeats, and the repeats of the repeats. Now - if only they would get their act together and show the Tom Baker seasons (showing my vintage) while the new one is off the air I'd be set.
We get everything from the US so late... Desperate H W not until Jan...it is so unfair. I love those really shit model prgrams like America's Next Top Models....so incredibly shit...I love them. And Tyra Tired Banks she is just a gay man's car crash wet dream PS love your new Avatar of Eva Green. You like a red head don't ya?
lololol....i really do. i also love Eva Green. She was one of the best things inside Casino Royale. Plus, she's quirky and smart which is also awesome. this pic originally had her with her normal brown hair, but then i thought, what about red? and did a little bit of photoshop, and fell in love with that pic...i don't what is it with me and red hair. i blame Nicole Kidman. (and Marcia Cross..) and ANTM is the shit. honestly. i started with the season that Nicole won and haven't missed an episode since... plus, this season of Desperate Housewives must be the best yet. you'll see soon.
I like Buffy, Law and Order, lately dancing with the stars, and the bachelor cause I think it is soooooooo stupid! Usually I watch a lot of tv on the court tv channel, History channel, Discovery Chanel, Animal Planet, Travel channel, HGTV, or I'll just watch a movie if it's any good...I don't have the patience to devote 2 hours otherwise.
I preferred the last three series of Buffy because they followed the same story all through, although the earlier series were more inventive. I started watching Lost but I got bored with it as none of the questions it posed were answered.
May all time favorite shows are: The Sopranos Murder One (Season One ONLY) MI-5 (I think it's called Sneaks in the UK) The Prisoner Space: 1999
Desperate Housewives Brothers and Sisters Without a Trace Grey's Anatomy Private Practice House American Idol (when it's on) CNN, Fox News, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and History Channel
My favorite episode of Buffy was the one they turned into a musical...so funny! I got bored with Lost also, and Desperate Housewives.
That episode was brilliant, they did it so well, the other episode that got awards was the silent one, i can't remember the name but I didn't rate that much. I found the plot of Desperate Housewives ok but none of the characters stuck out, Susan was a bit drippy, the only character I enjoyed was George.
