I hate it when a non-Australian tries to do an Australian accent. It's so grating and it's not even close - it always sounds like a cockney New Zealander.

That should have been cockney South African. I don't know what made me think of New Zealand. Maybe my earlier comment about Maori/Polynesian/Islander accents had me fantasizing about taking a holiday in the South Pacific.....

Cant say i like terribly the Afrikans type accent, so i see how you got confused with them & us ha
Ours i think is a bit bland and raw.
If your South Pacific holiday thinking, i suggest Fiji Willow

I remember on one trip to the states I was mistaken for somebody from New England: specifically Maine. They too have a very harsh sounding 'a'.
