I’ve noticed a lot of male toilets now have female attendants; there are small signs as you go in if you happen to notice them.
Last week I went into some toilets on Great Yarmouth seafront and went into one of the cubicles. The lock wasn’t good, unknown to me at the time just a firm push and the door would open. After a couple of minutes in there I heard someone spraying cleaning fluid, I heard spraying in the next cubicle to me and then the door of my cubicle started to open, I gently pushed against the door to indicate it was occupied but the person pushed against me and opened it fully. To my shock there was a woman about late 20’s standing in front of me looking down at me on the loo, after a couple of seconds staring she said “sorry mate” and left.
I suspect she knew it was occupied as soon as she started to open the door, she probably even watched me go in. When I came out of the cubicle I stood and washed my hands near her by the sink and told her that she shocked me when I saw her standing there as I thought I had gone into the ladies by mistake.
A couple of days after I went in there just for a pee, I stood at the urinal and noticed she was sweeping up close to me, I held myself right out without being discreet, I quickly went semi erect and pointed it down so it looked like it was really long in a flaccid state. I struggled to pee like that as I knew she was glancing all the time and had a clear view.

How would other people here react?

I wonder if this is another form of "Equal Opportunity" employment. In the US, only fancy places have rest room attendants, and I've only seen like gender attendants. Your attendant had no business pushing on the cubicle door.

Europe seems to be much more liberal with rest room activities. There are now portable street urinals that have zero privacy in many cities, so it's probably not a big deal to have a female attendant in a men's rest room. I wonder if there are male attendants in the female rest room - probably not!

Funny thing is... I've never been in a restroom where there has been an attendant inside. I just don't see the purpose unless you're either incompetent or elderly (and usually thats the same thing)... and I don't mean that to sound insulting.

    Call me ignorant, lol

I think I've never seen a male attendant in a toilet in Europe. Always female, and if they have to go in they do.

Even in clubs, bars and pubs, when womens have to stand in line to get in, they usually go to the men's one, just pop in and get to the closed ones. And nothing happens.

Ive been in night clubs before where women will go into the mens WC's to use the cubicles if there is a long queue for the ladies.

they will often take a peek at whats on show at the urinal....

...thats led to a few ineteresting encounters, i love it when they compliment my size in public like that!

Wouldn't care less if a dozen of 'em were in there. Problem is, down here hell hath NO fury like a female attendant in the men's restroom.

Have seen them literally barracade the doorway with their carts, daring anyone to set foot in there. And heaven forbid if you let on you're in a hurry.

Then that "mentality" clicks in, like those "special" types behind the wheel who go extra slow when they know you're in a rush, but speed up to keep you from getting in front of them?

i have seen female cleaning ladies but they normally close down the bathroom for a few minutes to clean

i do hate when they have the guy by the sink who give you a paper towel and turns the water on for you

never heard of that but it doesnt seem right. I mean if they put a male attendant in the female bathrooms there would be an uproar. nobody wants some pervert checking out their boobs and bush in the bathroom

It makes me very uncomfortable and usually I won't go. In Europe it's very common and I had a hard time getting used to that. Yes I have a hang-up about it, I admit it freely. No women in men's rooms and no men in women's rooms.

I first went to Europe in 1970 with a group of friends right after high school graduation. As a very innocent 17 year old, I was shocked the first time I saw a woman washroom attendant. It took awhile to get used to it.

I've never seen it anywhere else.

Europe isn't struggling to free itself from puritanical ideals.

    I'm mildly confused here
I can understand the bush...but how did your boobs come out in the bathroom?

I work in retail and I used to get more or less pulled into the womens fitting room to help clean out the cloths the female customers left
I was like but it's the womens fitting room! and they where like well the women should stay in the doors if they dont have thier clothes on!
    so I was like ok....
    pretty embarassing tho
I really hate how women feel so free to do things and guys are always looked at as creepy
never hear feminists complaina bout that double standard

oh but one time at a strip club I went into a bathroom and when I came out one of the dancers told me it was the womens bathroom
and I was like well thanks
cus it isn't like they where labeled
    it was a dive really
I dont like strip clubs to be honest

When I took my blind sister on trips, she would ask me to take her into the women's loo. At first, I balked but she insisted. When I got inside all the water closets were in a doored stall. Nobody complained.

Female attendants cleaning male toilets happens to be one of my pet hates. In my local market town if the male toilets are being cleaned by a woman men aren't allowed to use them. We either have to use the disabled loo or cross our legs which I think is unfair. If it's such a big deal that a female cleaner might glimpse half an inch of male flesh, why can't they just use male cleaners for the male toilets?

I was at our local large gym a couple of years ago and it was closing at about 11:00 and I was just finishing up. I walk in to the locker room and there was no one in there but me and the guy cleaning up. It was and older black guy with white hair. Anyway, I want to take a shower and walked by and glanced at him. I didn't think a thing. Later that week, I saw him again, it was a lady. I was like WTF? They should put up a sign or clean when it is closed.

As someone said, reverse the situation and you would have a lawsuit.
