Cori Bush @CoriBush
St. Louis police beat a Black cop who was working undercover at a protest "like Rodney King" and not one officer was found guilty. If an undercover cop can't get justice, how will the rest of us who have been maced, shot, beaten, and brutalized ever get justice?
...

The very concept of an "all white jury" in this day and age, in any part of the USA, is totally unjust.

Could you "please beam me up, Scotty"?... I can't take it anymore.

And in other "protecting and serving" news:

2 former Texas sheriff's deputies indicted over Javier Ambler's death

A Texas grand jury has indicted two former sheriff's deputies from Williamson County, Texas, on second-degree manslaughter charges over the death in custody of Javier Ambler, a 40-year-old Black man.

Two years and a day after Javier Ambler II’s death, a grand jury has indicted two former Williamson County deputies with manslaughter in a case that raised questions about reality TV in American policing.

Derek Chauvin ‘Absolutely’ Violated Policy, Minneapolis Police Chief Says

The city's top cop told jurors Monday that former officer Derek Chauvin's restraint of George Floyd "absolutely" violates department policy and goes against "our ethics and our values."

Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo testified about police training and tactics, but he wasn't allowed to discuss the firing of Chauvin, who is charged in Floyd's death.

The doctor who provided emergency care to Floyd at Hennepin County Medical Center was the first person to testify Monday morning. He testified that at the time of the incident, he believed Floyd died from a lack of oxygen, rather than an overdose or heart attack, based on the information he had.

Medical Examiner: Chauvin Restraint Was More Than George Floyd 'Could Take' | HuffPost

Another forensic pathologist testified that there was “no evidence to suggest” that Floyd would have died if former cop Derek Chauvin hadn’t kneeled on his neck.

The medical examiner who performed George Floyd’s autopsy took the stand Friday for the tenth day of witness testimony in former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial to explain how he determined Floyd’s cause of death.

“In my opinion, the law enforcement subdual or neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of those heart conditions,” Baker said.

“Mr. Floyd’s use of fentanyl did not cause the subdual or neck restraint. His heart disease did not cause the subdual or neck restraint,” he added.

More murderous bullshit:

Police fatally shoot Black man in traffic stop near Minneapolis, protests erupt

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (Reuters) -Protests erupted against police when an officer fatally shot a young Black man after stopping his vehicle for a traffic violation on Sunday about 10 miles (16 km) from where George Floyd was killed during an arrest in Minneapolis last May.

As angry crowds swelled into the hundreds outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department building on Sunday night, officers in riot gear fired rubber bullets and lobbed flash bangs at protesters and let off clouds of chemical irritants.

The man killed by police was identified by relatives and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as Daunte Wright, 20. Walz said in a statement that he was monitoring the unrest in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis, as "our state mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement."

Wright's mother, Katie Wright, told reporters at the scene that she received a call from her son on Sunday afternoon telling her that police had pulled him over for having air fresheners dangling from his rear-view mirror, illegal in Minnesota. She could hear police tell her son to get out the vehicle, she said.

"I heard scuffling, and I heard police officers say, 'Daunte, don't run,'" she said through tears. The call ended, and she dialed his number again, and his girlfriend answered and said he was now dead in the driver's seat.

If an officer is going to confuse a gun for a taser in a stressful moment, I think it's fair to say that raises questions about whether they should have been issued a gun in the first place.

A/B

Well, A.B. the plain simple TRUTH of it is that there are too many people in "law enforcement" who have NO FKNG BUSINESS in law enforcement, including a certain percentage who are supremacists, racists, bigots and possibly even antisocial psychopaths and malcontents who are hell bent on disrespecting and disregarding the dignity, well being, and very LIVES of Black people and minorities in particular.

The EFFECT being (whether intended or not) that they also become DOMESTIC TERRORISTS

in the sense that, EVERY Black person and minority person of color (PARTICULARLY MALE) who tries to live and work and go about his/her business in this country, must do so under the FULL KNOWLEDGE that at any time WE can be victimized by an errant no-knock, door breaking, weapons pointed invasion of our homes under ANY error or pretense,

and that WE, no matter our status, our worth, our occupation, position, or even our UNIFORM, can be stopped, pulled over, accosted, insulted, threatened, pepper sprayed, tasered, assaulted, beaten and even SHOT DEAD for failing to signal, for a broken tail light, for something hanging from a mirror, for a temporary tag or and expired license plate - OR FOR NO FKNG REASON AT ALL.

Those "boogaloo boys" neo-Nazis, supremacists, and other right winged racists and bigots speak of wanting that "race war."

But in TRUTH, with regard to policing, housing, education, employment, wages, and the CURRENT RIGHT WINGED ASSAULT UPON VOTING RIGHTS, there are those among them who've BEEN WAGING WAR, upon the Black community and upon minorities for QUITE some time.

If an officer is going to confuse a gun for a taser in a stressful moment, I think it's fair to say that raises questions about whether they should have been issued a gun in the first place.

What this does show is just how much of a "mistake" it was/is to make the taser used by LE "so much like a gun" with a grip like a semi auto pistol and that you "fire it" by using your "trigger finger"

Lets supposed that that taser they had was more like the "stun guns" available to the rest of us.

Maybe it would be different by in addition to having the two electrodes on the one end the other end would have the ability to shoot out with wires like the "pistol version" does , it could just have two buttons or maybe something like a rocker switch.

Maybe the baton they carry would/could have it built into that, like an old timey cattle prod , the end could fire off of it too

Bottom line what ever they carry it would be so different that there would be no way you could be holding a semi auto pistol and think for even one second that you are "holding your taser"

You might confuse it with your mag light or your radio or your pepper spray or your ---- but would never confuse it WITH YOUR GUN
