Yes, I do like 'Still More Fighting' from FFVII - it's playing on my computer now, as I type

Amazing enough, I NEED that song in my head or in my ears to study well :biggrin1:

FFIX has a nice theme for the Chocobo scenes.

To those who played Kingdom Hearts, I'm sure that 'Simple and Clean' as well as 'Sanctuary' also left a memorable impression

On the subject of game endings (Prince Will) - was anybody a bit gutted by the ending of FF7?

It's ok in retrospect, but at the time i'd invested loads of time gettin to know the characters, so when u only saw Red at the end - and found out sod all about the others' fate - it kind've disappointed me a bit.

Game was gr8 tho - so doesnt matter really, lol.

PS: Autofellatio - this thread's taken off really well man - well done! :p

Thanks - didn't know that there were so many closet FF fans lingering around these boards :biggrin1:

I guess that FF does indeed deserve the title of 'One of the Most Loved Game Series To Date'

Personally, I found the ending of FFVII to be a tad off. It just didn't seem right - so many sacrifices, and in the end, all was still lost...

I might be biased here, but the endings of FFIX and KHII are the nicest ones

FFIX had a sweet ending, but the final boss was TERRIBLE (what the hell happened to the storyline?! I understood the boss' role, but still...). Everything seems better, however, when the theme song plays after the ending scene - 'Melodies of Life' is definitely a keeper in my book

Kingdom Hearts II had a good ending animation scene, with a good soundtrack to boot.

I know, I'm a sucker for sentimental scenes

About FFVII - if they had released FFVIII in its place, and done it with the better graphics that had been available at the time when FFVIII was actually released, do you think it would have been better?

Hmmm - not sure. The graphics were good enough for the time - and the whole story and atmosphere was perfect. Kinda think the cartoony people suited it too.

Didn't they rejig the intro to FF7 as a PS3 demo?

I love FF!

VII on the Playstation was the one that got me into it and its the one i'll always love the most. Great story, great characters and even the music in it was enjoyable enough. I love japanese stuff!

Definitely beats the nearest competitor - Xenosaga.
Xenosaga?! I'm willing to believe you had a momentary lapse of memory when you said this -- Dragon Quest is and always will be the nearest competitor to the FF series.

Xenosaga isn't even the 2nd best Square-made RPG series (and yes, I know they only did Xenogears - my 3rd favorite RPG ever); that distinction belongs to the Chrono series, though mostly on account of Chrono Trigger (my #1 RPG ever).

Yeah they did, and those teasing bastards said it was merely a demo to show what the PS3 was like and that there were no actual plans then or in the foreseeable future for a PS3 remake of FF7. Pricks. That's like being kicked in the nuts.

My thoughts exactly on the PS3 demo :biggrin1:

But I tend to agree with my younger sibling when he says that FFVII just... wouldn't BE FFVII without the outdated graphics

Chrono Trigger is a hell of a game. I will also say it is better than any in the Xenosaga series. However, Chrono Cross wasn't as strong. Personally, I love the Xenosaga series. I think it's a hell of a series.

From a glamour/monetary standpoint the nearest competitors are Dragon Quest (and Phantasy Star) - but I really think Xenosaga is underrated.

He's probably right - kinda cute and atmospheric aren't they?
