Question: In FF7, how is it a flower girl(Aerith) gets shanked and dies, but your entire party gets hit by the solar system(lol, wtf?) by sephiroth, and is A-ok?

From what I can remember, doesn't that attack drain all your party's HP down to nearly 0 and unless you have a healing spell that revs up all your party HP at once at the next attack your basically screwed ?

In any case, you are better off doing the Chocobo breeding mini game and end up getting the KOTRT materia. That baby makes the final Sephiroth fight seem like a cake walk when you try without it.

Oh, I beat him, almost 10 years ago; it just always annoyed me how he hits you with an attack from the center of the earth.

I love the final Fantasy. I've played every game in the series. Hmm honestly though I like the older one (like FFIV and FF6) more so then the newer "playstation Generation" ones.
I think Rydia is the hottest girl and Sephiroth doesn't have anything on Kefka. Well i guess Sephiroth is prettier >.>

Yeah, I adored the whole Black Hole phenomenon in all the Final Fantasy games. You ever just stop and think, "Wow, if that attack actually pulled off like that, we'd ALL die? Me and Sephiroth? and Kafka? and the Elementals? and Zeromus?" Nobody can fuck with all that deep space.

Personally, I imagine myself as a Mystic-type character who wears unconventional light armors that bestow ridiculous status-buffs, a massive gauntlet claw running the full length of my right arm, and an attack and evade rate to just piss you off. Give me a Genji Glove and I'm MARAUDERING you.

I'll go and have a look at the link in a sec, Auto...

Yeah, Malboros are cool. My favourite named attack though has gotta be 'spazz breath' haha. Not sure what the enemy was, but it was on your way up through the Shinra building in VII.

Chocobos and Moogles are extremely cute. Wonder why that baby choc. in Mage Village (IX) was called Bobby Corwen though? Wierd.

Smilies are cool, mate. If you can't tart up an otherwise ordinary post with a couple of snazzy smilies, then what's the world coming to? :biggrin1:
(Not saying your post was ordinary, btw - just talking generally, haha).

Spazz Breath? Sounds familiar - I think it was something called Razor Weed, and that it was near Wutai or something...

Bobby Corwen was a dear :biggrin1:

And my golden Choco was the apple of my eye

Remember, Phoenix Downs don't always work! I'm looking at you Aerith!

What is the fascination with Aerith kicking the bucket?

It's creepy, man
I don't have a fascination with her death, just comparing hers with the fact that sephiroth summoned the force pf the ENTIRE solar system on your party- and they live through that shit.

Umm, I was referring to the fact that her death seems to be nearly the most famous scene in FF :biggrin1:

But yeah, Safer Sephiroth's Supernova was RIDICULOUS. First he had maths equations flying all over the screen, then he blows up most of our solar system, and THEN, four people get whammied with a frikkin' meteorite.

Sound weird, eh?

Hey Auto,

Aeris' death is the most memorable scene in FFVII. :p
Maybe cos it's so moving, people are morbidly fascinated by it, lol (me included).

Pendlum: It took me years to figure out why Phoenix downs are called that. I didn't realise until last year (during FFXII) that it's referring to the down/feathers from phoenixs. d'oh!

I think the reason Aerith' death is so facinating to a lot of fans of FF and RPG games in general is that it was perhaps the first time that we have all become so emotionally invested in these characters in a video game that her death became such a gut wrenching moment for us to watch and I, for one, was also shocked at how random and how left of field it was. I mean, I expected her to confront Sephiroth at the Forgotten Capital in order to help save the planet from Meteor, but I did not at all expect her to end up impailed on a katana blade and then laid to rest at the bottom of the lake.
