I'd always thought when people were looking at my crotch it was because I bought lame clothing.

Then, after a few weeks at my new job, my manager started making comments about me:

"Hey --my name--, do you like ballet?"

"Here he comes. Look!" An office girl turns and looks at my crotch as I approach.

Another time, I was at the urinal and he actually glanced over the stall.

After all of this (and habitually focusing on buying clothing that shows less), I decided that I just don't give a fuck what others think about my bulge.

...unless it's of the female persuasion. That makes my day.

I really don't understand. What you're reporting is sexual harassment and is very much against the law. You should be documenting everything and setting an appointment with your manager's supervisor.

It wasn't feeling like harassment (although I'm sure I could have gone that route). It was more of an annoyance. I've since moved to another department. Funny thing is, that he's a right-wing "christian" guy. Go figure.

the supervisor should KNOW BETTER than to do what he did and to allow it to happen in the workplace. the company has erred in not training management about sexual harassment and, if they have, then the supervisor should be fired.

but if you enjoy the attention, let it be. but the "attention" probably get more intense and nasty.

At least in Massachusetts, it's probably not harassment if the OP does not feel harassed.

In Mass. employers are required by law to adopt and enforce a sexual harassment policy in the workplace.

Basically, if sexual favors are part of job retention or advancement, it's harassment whether or not the employee considers this harassment. This is also the case if sexual advances and behavior of any coworker towards a fellow employee make work-life hell.

But for less overt behavior from the boss or any other employee, it's about perception (from the link below, my bold):

While it is not possible to list all those additional circumstances that may constitute sexual harassment, the following are some examples of conduct which if unwelcome, may constitute sexual harassment depending upon the totality of the circumstances including the severity of the conduct and its pervasiveness:

I am already wise enough to know how to treat other people, know how to joke with other people, and know how and when to flirt with other people.

At this point... it is the persons making the accusations who are most often guilty of harassment. They are terrorizing and controlling the workplace thru legal intimidation and threats.

That's why every one I ever hire gets sat down and asked to agree that this is a free speech zone- That if they find the workplace abusive they can bring it to me, or they can quit, but that they are not gonna get the job nor keep the job if I think they are litigious asswipes who think my shop should be run Their way...

If you look at where I live, you can understand that there is no such thing. I mean, it can happen, but grabbing a ass is not harassement here lol so just to say a something, I can't imagine.

But I can understand very well some people, woman I would say, go thru that and can become hard to work in a vicious enviroment.

But many time, I read the word ''sue'' (here) for no reason at all. I think we have to measure something before putting on act just a simple thing. If it really bother someone, you can just say: cut it off, and that should be fine. It's all about common sence.
