Each President gets an expense account for personal entertainment. None of this money is NOT in the budget already.

There is no 'budget' for his expense account. It is limitless and will be paid from the coffers regardless of excess. No one approaches the Obamas and says, 'your budget is $4 million this week.' Either way, it is poor form to spend extravagently in times of national economic hardship.

The NYC date was ridiculous, but it appears they took their lumps and learned from it. There really hasn't been much public flaunting since.

Why they need twentysomething assistants is hard for me to understand; but then again, I'm not the POTUS. Although I probably would have accomplished more over the past 12 months.

It is reported that never in the history of the White House has a "First Lady" spent so much on so many personal assistants, all paid from taxpayer dollars.

Michelle Obama has 26 on her staff with a cost of $1,256,770.00 annual salaries.

I thought we were in a recession!
Bull Shit! :bsflag:
Show me proof. Legitimate proof, not Faux News photoshopped mess. Also are we taking into account inflation? :irked:

How many of us can afford to fly from Washington to New York for a "night out?"
Oh please you sound sillier with every post. When I was living in NJ and working full-time I was able to fly from NJ to Atlanta, GA to see Bruce Springsteen in concert; and that was just 4 years ago.

NY to DC is a commuter route and while not cheap, it's also not like flying to Paris, France just for some brioche. You Republitards just have to complain about something. :irked:

Phsaw... That little war only cost $700,000,000,000.

More importantly, The Obamas' movie tickets cost almost $40.00! As Starinvestor said, they have nerve to flaunt that kind of cash.

First - those of us that aren't partying on taxpayers' hard-earned dollars just rented DVD's or played board games during the recession.

Second - with the lavish entourage, etc., was more along the lines of $250K - which could have fed a lot of hungry children.

Third - wouldn't it have been easier to just have the movie reel brought to the White House, and have dinner catered...for say...$1,200?

So when times are good, they should be able to rent the Queen Mary 2 and circumnavigate Australia?

Second - with the lavish entourage, etc., was more along the lines of $250K - which could have fed a lot of hungry children.

You see awfully compassionate when it's convenient.

Let's get real. The Secret Service entourage would follow them if they went down the block to buy a pack of smokes (does he still smoke?). They are going to be there regardless, whether they are in NYC or DC. You are finding fault where there is none.

Third - wouldn't it have been easier to just have the movie reel brought to the White House, and have dinner catered...for say...$1,200?

I'm sure that they might do this occasionally, but why shouldn't they be allowed to go out and have some fun once a year? I just hope that they saw a good movie. George and Barbara Bush went out to see My Stepmother is an Alien and nobody made a stink about it. I don't know which is more sickening, their choice of movie or the fact that Democrats have less privileges.

If there wasn't a staff and she didn't do anything except stay at home reading magazines, talking with her friends and making cupcakes for the children to bring to school bake sales people would criticize that. Being First Lady {in the future being 'Presidential Spouse when a woman or homosexual is President} is a job. It is a manager type position which requires a staff. Leave the woman alone.

you notice the Obama's have not had another date night to the theater in NYC, now there was some excessive spending.
Read the next 2 posts and my responses.

Why would date nights to the theater bother anyone?
It shouldn't. In politics however people will always look for problems. If the economy had been ideal then and even now it would have been a matter of spoiling the air with jet fuel fumes or some other nonsense by the Republicans the same holds true when a Republican does anything recreational, the Democrats launch an attack~~it's politics and brings speeches and photo-ops to amuse the public.

How many of us can afford to fly from Washington to New York for a "night out?"

If they'd gone by train then the attack would be disruption of train service and the stations in New York and Washington. If they'd driven it would have been an issue about a motorcade and all the trouble on the highways etc, etc. The President is a man allowed to take his wife somewhere nice now and then and he went to New York he did not fly her to Guam for a weekend of sex. Would you prefer he just hid in the Oval Office all the time and eat Fritos and drink Gatorade and only watch youtube in his off hours?

This report assumes that flight operating costs are $56518 per hour for Air Force One . These figures are based on the per-hour cost figures cited by GAO ......do the math

Edit of the blah, blah, blah and the blah . . .

OMG! Milk just came out of my nose! Please! Someone help me back into my desk chair! I'm laughing too hard to get up! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! :biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

The thought of Star, the failed investment advisor, becoming the president of anything except possibly his Dungeons and Dragons group. Even then. LOL! :biggrin1:

Uh, but if Star were the POTUS he would probably pass an executive order officially making "irregardless" a real word. LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! LMAO! :biggrin1:

It is a word douchebag!

IRREGARDLESS - Definition and More from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary

And irregardless of you falling out of your lawn chair [which is the entirety of your living room furniture] in your trailer; I certainly wouldn't have created a campaign platform built on lies and propoganda.

Uh, you need to do a little more research. Google is your friend.

Seriously folks, the dude is the head of government AND state of the MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY in the entire fucking world, with the largest fucking economy, whose GDP is in the order of trillions. The money these conservabots are talking about is a drop in the fucking bucket, and they just want something to bitch about. They're totally not concerned with all the money we piss away on needless weapons systems, or the money we shitted away on that godforsaken hell hole in the Middle East (read: Iraq). But god forbid a family of liberals doesn't live like a bunch of fucking hippies! Do we really want to run the White House on a shoe string budget?

Haha - okay. Barry is paying for all those personal assistants out of his pocket. He's paying for the security detail for a night of dinner and movies in NYC - out of his own pocket.

Wake up.

His 'supposed' expense account relates to 'official purposes' but even that is a joke.

Please help me arrive at the President's actual expense account since you are so gifted with Google.

Let's see, we erected hospitals, schools, we provided educational systems for women, children, students...medical care, assisted in the installation of a government, trained Iraqis in a number of skills and professions, brought freedom and independence to a nation that was ruled by tyranny and lawlessness, genocide and evil. Displaced/removed a leader that robbed the country of its resources, forced its people to live in poverty with no hope or opportunity to escape, murdered people because they lost soccer games, etc etc...spat in the face of the U.N. and the international community, disregarded sanctions, invaded a helpless Kuwait, etc. etc.

Shitted away?

Not really.

The same person who made the following post could, and in his case he would be in the company of a few hookers::biggrin1:

Either way, it is poor form to spend extravagantly in times of national economic hardship.

I've always wholeheartedly supported prostitution and am I very good patron of local escorts as well as working girls in various cities in which I travel... Nowadays, these hookers are much more demanding and much less willing to negotiate.

I'm in the initial planning stages of a weekend lake trip with a couple dozen guys with multiple boats, etc, and back in the day could have easily brought two working girls down there for less than 2k - free drinks, boating, accomodations...etc. etc. just run around naked a little, show some ass, some tits..

Now, even the less attractive ho's want $3k per for the weekend.

Are there any escorts in the midwest that would like to jump on this deal? Boating, drinks, lavish accomodations, etc. for a weekend. All expenses paid, plus a per diem of $500/day?
Lemme know.

Oh please. The Coalition invaded Iraq so that they could build schools and hospitals? If the tyranny was so horrible then why did the Coalition wait until after 9/11 to invade and build schools?

Were half a million Iraqis killed just to build schools and hospitals which already existed before the invasion? Please tell me you are joking.

Tyranny, or at least martial law, is necessary in volatile regions. In the case of Iraq, Hussein prevented the Muslims from killing each other. He used draconian methods, but he could possibly have prevented civil war and millions of deaths. Hussein provided schools, hospitals, law and order, education, healthcare.

There were many other countries in more dire need of "aid" from the coalition in 2003. I'm talking about schools and hospitals, not inexplicably-unaccounted mass murder of civilians. Rwanda's pleas were largely ignored, for example.

Yes really. Not one of those women, children, or students asked the USA to invade and turn their shithole of a country into a hellhole, and you'd be hard pressed to find very many that are grateful today.

Please... spare us the the fucking lie that America selflessly invaded Iraq to help them better themselves. LOL!!! Do you really believe half of the BS you come up with?
