I'm planning on having sex with my girlfriend tonight. I've had sex only once before but having the condom on felt weird and perhaps constricting. So I managed to get hold of 3 different sized condoms and tested the sizes to see how I fitted in them so can you all help me to decided which size to go for and which brand?

Note: I live in the UK so some brands may now be available. Also if people need a reference I have photos in my gallery.

My penis is 6 3/4 x 5 and I'm 2 inches wide. However my head is the widest part of my penis.

Standard: The condom was actually a struggle to slip on and didn't go on easily. I was fumbling to get it over my head. When it was on completely the condom may have been sliding up slightly. My head was compressed and the overall shape now was that the base was slightly wider than the head even though my head is wider than my base.

Large: Again, a bit of a struggle to put on and though stimulation made my head swell and push against the latex, ultimately my head wasn't as big as it should look. The condom may also have fitted better on my shaft.

King Size: My head could swell to its full size here and though the condom wasn't tight it didn't slip off either. There was space for me to pinch it so I'm guessing the condom is too big here.

I know there are condoms with more head room but they never say so on the box I've found. Any help would be great.

Standard, large and King size are not actually real sizes, since they are brand-dependent. I suggest you to measure your penis (I know this is a bit awkward) and look for a comparison table with the sizes of many brands and models. The most important parameter is girth; you should also check the shape (there are condoms that are tighter at the base, that have the same width on the whole length, with a larger head...). Keep trying till you find the perfect one!

I'm sorry but I have a problem getting a condom around my 5 inch girth too... probably because that's when it's flaccid.

But seriously if you think finding a condom that doesn't feel tight on an average girth penis is difficult, try it with a 6.5" girth.

Good thing I'm gay and in a long term committed relationship.

Never understood this.... when I was a boy and played with condoms,,, they streached big when I blew them up as a balloon...... very elastic.
I used condoms regularly after my second child but the trick is use lubrication. With some KY jell inside and out, one can hardly know the condom is there.
Today I have my woman put it on, making that a part of the foreplay.
Sex is fun and so are condoms.

You may have better luck with a condom like the Pasante Regular; it's wider at the head;
http://www.pasante.com/images/stories/products/regular.jpg

I've found that the names of condoms (such as XL, King Size, etc) are pretty meaningless.
If you're just starting out with condoms, there's several web stores that sell "selection packs" with single condoms from different manufacturers. I tried about a dozen before I found the one that suited me.

The boxes in stores are useless for information as well. You have to look on the manufacturer's website to know what you're after!

I've recently switched to MySize condoms and I like that they come in a couple of different sizes(you can see which size would be best for you here MY.SIZE measuring tape to find your custom size condom)

The sizing is based on actual metric measurement so you don't have to worry about "large" meaning regular of another brand, etc. And because you're in the UK they're more available to you than they are for us in Canada.

Good fit makes all the difference in my opinion. Yes, condoms stretch but let's face it-- I can jam my feet into size 11 shoes, but if I tried to run a marathon in them it'd be a nightmare.

Try a Magnum XL.. they are 30% wider than most condoms, whereas other brands say 'Large', 'Extra' or whatever but if you read the dimensions you'll see they're only a few mm wider in girth, hardly noticeable- it's mostly an ego-stroking marketing ploy.
Magnum XL are the most comfortable ones I've tried ...relief from that frankfurter feeling at last!
