I agree with what everyone is saying here that they're not making fun of gays just the creepers.
I get where they are coming from because I encounter so many creepers at my Y in the locker room that I purposely go in the evening to avoid them. During the day there are so many that it's extremely uncomfortable getting naked around them. This is from a guy who enjoys nudity and has zero modesty issues around other men. Why are there so many creepers during the day? Yup, you guessed it, most of them are 65+, so they have nothing else to do during the day and tend to stay home at night. It's annoying to have to do this when it would be more convenient at times for me to go during the day. I don't want to deal with their weird creepy behavior, so this is just something I have to do even though it is massively inconvenient at times. It got so bad when I had to work out during the day that I started wearing my wedding band to the gym to get these guys to leave me alone. Before anyone asks, I usually don't wear my wedding band when working out because it could get damaged when lifting weights. I don't want to leave it in my locker because thefts are rampant (there are signs posted everywhere about this). A friend of mine had her wedding band stolen right out of her locked locker, so I don't want to chance it. The sentimental value is irreplaceable.
It makes me laugh when old guys acknowledge they're gay and think that automatically younger guys are going to be interested in them especially when these old guys are gray and balding, massively overweight and covered in liver spots. The creepiest guys tend to start every other sentence with "My wife and I..." thinking they are deflecting suspicion of what they're actually up to which is creeping on younger guys. One guy was so bad that he got banned from my Y. I complained about him several times to management as did other guys.
