Which of our senses are most important to you, in sex ?

I think on this site there's a bias toward the visual. What a penis looks like, naked or clothed, hard or soft...

But I think other things matter. Smell doesn't get much of a mention, because overall the modern world is too sanitised, but the smells of different body parts are often laced with pheromones... Chemical signals.

And touch is clearly important. Sounds - soft moans or "dirty" talk.

I think at it's best, sex opens ways for minds to form a kind of psychic link. Directly sharing something, and influencing each other.

How is the experience of sex, for you ?

If you want the simple version - lights on / lights off ? - on a beach / in a bed ? - moaning and talking, or silent as a library ?

Interesting thread. Touch/feel > sound > sight > taste > smell in descending order. Hard to say for sure because it all involves communication and various situations will shift the order of importance for a particular time. In general, lights dim or off with lots of body contact and audible communication and not in a hurry.

All of my senses have a relevant factor.

I love the smell of my man when he is or isn't showered, but I actually prefer if he's clean but hasn't just come out of the shower so I can't smell his body wash. I like His scent the best, especially during sex. It's a big factor in why I get so into sucking him, I love the smell of his cock.

When I feel his hands touching and feeling me, it makes me shiver and gush. I love when he grabs my tits, or spreads my ass cheeks and gets off to my body... It makes me cum almost instantly. (and obviously the feeling of his cock sliding in and out of any or all of my three holes)

The noises we make together are also hott enough to bring me to climax. His deep voice, grunting and moaning like a baritone.. my feminine voice moaning and giggling, it's erotic.. like music.

And he is FINE, built and muscular, but not so huge that I'm dwarfed by his bulk.
Broad shoulders, big dick, gorgeously handsome masculine face.. I get wet at the sight of him fully clothed. All I have to do is allow it, I'm usually holding back the urge to jump on him when we're just chillin together having a beer and a smoke.

Sex is a wonderful experience. I can do it anywhere with him and feel like I'm only one place, Fucking Him. He is the key factor in my satisfaction. I don't care if the light is on or off, I don't mind getting fucked on the bed, couch, chair, floor, shower, car, wherever. If I'm fucking him, I'm getting off ;)

touch > hearing > smell > taste > sight.

In the day to day world, sight is a very important sense for me. In the bedroom, it's next to useless. There's pretty much nothing I can see that I can't picture just fine in my head through intimate touching.

My eyes are closed through a lot of it just to keep those images from distracting how exquisite everything feels.

Great sex is greater than the sum of each individual sense. It's a gestalt, total experience, coordination of all senses. It also depends on your partner also, and the different sensual quality he has.

The question is like asking which sense is the most important in experiencing riding a roller coaster.

I absolutely love Tight n Juicy's post here. Very well written and hot, way hot.

I agree. In fact, it's kind of my point. I'm just attempting to start steering some people away from reliance purely on the visual, and measuring the size issue alone.

And when it's really good they all become so intertwined with each other that it becomes one indivisibly sensuous experience, without any tangible beginning nor end. It just is.

My first reaction to this thread was that I really can't say which sense is most important to me, sexually. But in reading the responses and thinking some more on the subject I was finally able to resolve a few priorities by asking myself some very basic questions.

If I had to give up one of the five senses which would be the least important to me, sexually? I found that question easy to answer, it would be hearing. While communication during sex can be very important there are many more ways than verbal to communicate with your lover and the carnal sounds of having sex are low on my own list of senses when enjoying sex.

Then I asked myself if I could only experience one of the five senses while having sex which sense would I choose. That answer also came easily to me, as it would be touch. After all, the physical sex act is all about the joining of body parts in a pleasurable way and without the sense of touch the other four senses would seem merely ancillary.

So I wind up with touch being the key sense and hearing the least important. The other three are somewhere in between and I really can't prioritize them to any degree.

Bright sunlight - On the beach - Moaning and talking.
