Just walked the dog in snow flurries! That might be all the snow we get here this season ...

I need to turn on Channel 2 to see if they're covering the flurries with storm team coverage ...

I lived in Atlanta for many years and it always amazed me how at the first flake of snow, they would run to Kroger and buy all the milk and bread in the store. I lived north of Atlanta about 20 miles from Rome in '93 when we had 27" of snow/ice. Talk about being isolated from the world. No plows or salt trucks or any of the luxuries of the north. Ah, pioneer days.

I remember being snowed into Charlotte for 4 or 5 days back in 1999 or 2000. It was not fun. Southerners freak out over less than an inch of snow. The combo of a foot of snow and I don't know how much ice pretty much shut down the state.

I'm 5 hours north and we only have a slight chance of rain.

I wouldn't mind a huge snowstorm and some time off work...

It has been over +40f here for most of the week. It rained, and was so slippery the schools were closed and the buses didn't run. Don't recall things ever being closed because it was too warm in January before.

That's crazy. I would never imagine it being above freezing in Alaska in the Winter.

Why didn't you call me when you were here?
We've had several storms that have just shut things down here because we don't have the equipment to keep roads clear. The best part is when they do clear the roads, they clear the major streets, which is fine, but if you can't get out of your neighborhood, clear main roads aren't any help!

We are getting a nice snow here in central NC right now. Only 3 inches expected, but thats enough to result in closings tomorrow and keep me home from work.

It's odd. The Metro areas go into a standstill, and the rural people like us get out the sleds and tool around.

I usually can drive through about 7" with the car, and around 14" with the truck before it becomes a bit too cumbersome.

You see people creeping along at 25mph in the semi cleared lanes.

I take the snow covered just because I get better traction and pass all the slow pokes.

Eat my snowflakes light foot drivers.....

I can drive in it...but...I'm not taking my new car out in the snow to have some kid plow into me sliding 30 mph while chatting on his/her cell phone. The last time we had a decent snow, the road outside my house looked like a demolition derby.

My car is going to enjoy the snow at home.

It does look pretty though.

It was snowing in the Douglasville to Villa Rica Georgia area too. Just light, pretty flurries, no real accumulation is expected.

We've got about 1 1/2" outside, it is still falling and they just said we might get more. The bulk of the snow here was south and east of Charlotte. The news is reporting of all the school closings. The roads are mostly clear, but I'm not taking a chance on going out.
