I was outside at work yesterday when I heard a loud roar, I looked up to see a B-17 Flying Fortress about 2000 ft overhead. It was beautiful and so awesome.
If you're an airplane buff, you'll know that it was one of America's premiere bombers during World War II. It had a crew of 10 and most of the crews never made it to the 25 mission mark needed to go home. Near the end of the war, there use to be 1000 plane missions. I believe that there are only three B-17's left in the world that are air worthy. This one must have belonged to the Confederate Air Force. I spent the rest of the day thinking about the sacrifices made by these brave men.
