And anytime anyone starts in on the amateur physical anthropology stuff I start feeling really uncomfortable and uneasy and I pretty much want the conversation to be over immediately. It doesn't matter if they're talking about Asian people's noses and differences between our various types epithelial folds over our eyes, African people's traits from different parts of that continent and what sports they're better or worse at, or the genetic differences between Arabs and who qualifies as "Caucasian" (that is, at what point moving north does one put that dividing line between Dark and Light skinned people?). It all makes me queasy. It doesn't matter how many people pop into this thread and say they aren't offended either, it still makes me feel queasy and I don't like it. I found an interesting article about intermarriage statistics from the 2000 census broken down by the different Asian American groups with the largest presence in the US. It also has separate statistics for Asian Americans who were either born in the US or grew up in the US from a young age.

It also shows that Asian American men have pretty high rates of marrying a white woman (although less than Asian American women). However, people hardly ever talk about this. Personally i think the whole Asian fascination in porn is offensive. I'm not even Asian, but if i were, i'd be even more pissed. And the idea about all of us being sweet, subservient, meek little women who live to walk ten paces behind their men is just beyond baffling. Especially if these Asian women are highly educated, high earners, successful in their chosen fields in addition to being physically attractive. I am sure there are Asian women out there who have no issues with this, but not all of us want to be pushed into that small box. It's not just unfortunate, it is creepy, especially if you are the recipient of unwanted attention from a guy who projects these stereotype onto you (happened to me once).

For anonymity reasons I refuse to reveal my own nationality and origins, but let me tell you that some of the members of the Asian side of my family consider their fellow countrymen to be superior to everyone else in the world, especially all those white people.
