Okay, I was wondering:

What type of guitar/amplifier did Frank Zappa most commonly use?

And what about John Christ(88-94)

And Ian MacKaye of Fugazi?

How about Marc Bolan of T Rex?

And finally, what about Bobby Krieger of the Doors?

I've always wondered, and could never find out.... Maybe some of you music enthusiasts can enlighten me.

thanks in advanced,

I think the guy from the doors used a Gibson SG but I could be wrong.
People think my name is what it is, cause they think my name is Rick. It isn't. Its because I play bass and use a 1974 Rickenbacker bass. lol

later!

rickbass is correct. Krieger used/uses an SG standard, often with a tremolo/whammy.

As for zappa, he fooled around with guitars and amps just as much as he fooled around with various psychoactive substances. However i do recall being in a music shop in Germany where he bought a mesa boogie head back in the day, either a rectifier or a mark IV (they proudly display a framed picture of this historical purchase to this very day).
Theres a live vid of the song peaches in which he appears to be playing a Gibson SG too (without a whammy).

Guitargeek actually has McKaye's rig

Hope that answers a few questions.
