regardless of what those (highlighted) guys identify as the fact is they are not straight, doesnt matter what they call themselves it doesnt change what they are.
i can call my self an Australian all i want and i can do a very convincing Aussie accent but that doesnt change the fact that i was born and raised in Canada and have never set foot on Australia

While I understand the context of what you are saying in the example you used above, I personally can't apply it to sexuality. It's like comparing apples and oranges. In my personal opinion, I believe a person's self-sexual identity is and should defined by them and them alone, despite what you, me or anyone else in society thinks it should be. We can agree to disagree about that.
