1) Enormous wealth shields one from most of life's harsher realities like how to find food and shelter. As someone who has lived hand-to-mouth for years, that's not always a strictly theoretical question.

2) I could do a world of good with such immense wealth; one can live comfortably on a tiny fraction of $1B.
