Obama should govern as if he is not running for reelection, i.e., in the best interests of the country, no matter what the Republicans do or say.

Agreed... and is it true that the measure to legalize marijuana in California failed?

Yep, but the governor just signed legislation recently making possession an infraction, just like a traffic ticket. So no more filling prisons with people who smoke dope.

I guess that's a tiny step towards the ultimate goal. I'm not a smoker, yet even I know that legalizing marijuana would be a good thing to help fix the economy.

thats a huge step in the right direction. I'd rather pay a $50 dollar fine and be sent on my way than to have to hire an attorney, fork out thousands of dollars, and still take it up the ass by 'the man'

Anyone with the cash can go to a Marijuana Diagnosis Treatment Center in California, especially along the Central Coast from Santa Cruz to LA, and be "diagnosed" to have a legal prescription for weed. Of course, then you need to take your prescription to a legal dispensary and pay a whole bunch of money for the bud of your choice.

to try to concentrate a bit through the haze.. The question is, what is the best interest of the country which obama ought to be pushing? Obama must have seen this coming the day he got into office, so has he already put in place what he believed had to be done?
