Approximately 3% of men are exclusively homosexual, and another 6% are either bisexual, or would consider a same-sex relationship or liaison, making 9% total. The other 91% are exclusively heterosexual, or would not consider having a same-sex relationship.
This is recent research data from the Kinsey Institute.
Sorry, just not buying that. Guys who wouldn't consider a relationship with another guy will get off with one from time to time. Examples -- college dorms, the military, prisons. In other words, many all-male environments.
Remember that this was a survey and people lie (surprise!). I have talked to 100% straight guys on this very site who are bi but don't want anyone to know.
And several years ago they changed the HIV warning from "If you are a gay man..." to "If you are a gay man, or a man who has sex with men...." Now why would they add "a man who has sex with men" to their standard "If you are a gay man"? Because so many straight guys who didn't consider themselves gay but did have sex with men, didn't think they were at risk for HIV because they weren't gay. Stupid, I know, but that's our species sometime.
So I go back to my original assertion, if "straight" is defined so incredibly narrowly as to mean a guy who would NEVER under any circumstances (including drunk or high, and horny) have sex with another dude, then the percentage of straight guys is very very very low. (The two percent was hyperbole, as I'm sure you know.) Not sure what the real number is, but I know how many guys I've had sex with that I was the first guy they had sex with. Men are men. They like their cocks to feel good. When you offer them that a lot of them won't say no.
