My dick has a slight curve to the left. For some reason the doctors said they thought it could lead to a complication if they did the procedure. Funny this is a couple years back my mom was apparently spilling her guts about all the ways she felt she failed when it came to raising me and while she was crying she mentioned not getting me cut. I laughed my ass off and told her I would have been pissed if she had, and then educated her as to why. I've since talked all three of my sisters into not having their sons cut, and in the case of my first nephew, I lectured the doctor to the point of telling him he should go back to med school and to get the hell out of there until their was someone with a license to give some real advice to my sister even though I had already provided it. Another doctor came and he agreed with me. So he wasn't cut. Lol.

Yeah, good on you. About time somebody stood up to doctors. They are just people. Good on the other doctor too, but why doesn't he do something meaningful to reform his peers, other than playing good cop/bad cop?

Lol. I'm surprised I wasn't removed by security for that whole thing. It worked out in the end though.

Pros and cons aside, my biggest issue with circumcision is it's a body mod. Just like a tattoo, piercing, split tongue, or sub-dermal implants. You just don't EVER do a body mod on someone without their consent when their of age. I'm against piercing little girls ears to. If someone decided to get their baby tattooed, it would be all over CNN. It's bullshit that circumcision is seen differently. I mean by all means if it's something you want done as an adult for any reason, then fine go do it, it's your body. But don't make that choice for a kid.

I know a number of people who hate their parents for having made the choice for them. I mean how do you tell a kid "honey we decided to have a piece of you cut off while you were young"? I mean sure you can restore it, but it's not the same thing, and it takes years to do. Why do the mod in the first place when it serves no point but to line doctors pockets? I'm not sure if this has been posted before but check out this video of the "painless and simple procedure"

With all the information out there why would you have such a procedure performed?
Cut men validate their own circs on the bodies of their children. "See? It isn't harmful. I'm a good parent. I wouldn't do anything to harm my offspring." Convoluted.

The more ominous message is they are my property.

The circumcision rate was close to 90% nationally when I was born, but probably only 66% locally...two out of three or so were cut.
My dad was uncut. So were my uncles on my mother's side. When my brother was born, they just didn't have the money, and it wasn't traditional for them, anyway. I am totally grateful it worked out that way.

Because growing up we went to Italy every summer, where the little kids go naked at the beach, and my dad didn't want people to ask him questions about it. Seriously, that's the explanation I got. In any case, I'm not complaining!!!

I had to have a blood transfusion when i was born. they didnt want to circ me after the transfusion to make sure my blood was clotting properly. (at least this is what I heard). they told my parent to bring me back 6 wks later and if everything was fine they could circ me then. however, insurance no longer covered the circ after i left the hosp. and my parents couldnt afford it.

since my dad is uc, they just left me uc.

now, I dont know how medically sound the facts are, this is just the way it was told to me.

I am uncut and so is my brother because for some medical reason our dad had to have it done at 15. He said the pain was really and he didn't want us to hurt like that.

I'm cut and live in the South. Whenever I can, I ask UC guys how come they are UC (and I ask it in a way that doesn't sound like there's a right or wrong answer.)

90% of the time, my buddies will tell me because they were born in a rural part of the state, or the Doctor didn't recommend it or he didn't suggest it. I also discovered there is sometimes tensions between the parents, the father usually wants his son natural if he's UC, but the mother may try to push circumcision.

The woman's (not-so-hidden) wish to control a man, show who's the boss; snip the boy's dick; a mental castration of sorts. A possible mother's revenge if she's not all happy with the husband/father. Absurd, the idea of circumcision, without an emergency health reason for the boy/man.

The whole "religious" angle on genital cutting is to punish and control sexuality.

I'm uncut, but my brother isn't. I don't know why my foreskin was spared, but I was born at home whereas my brother was born in a hospital. Not at all sure if that had anything to do with it...

All I can say is I'm glad they left my penis alone. :)

I was talking to a friend of mine who is cut. When my friend was born, his parents were visiting family in Ohio. The doctor just took him and circumcised him without the parents permission. They didn't have to have permission in the 1950s. His brother was born in Tennessee. He was not circumcised.

It is hard to believe that permission was not needed at anytime in the past.

Why were you left uncircumcised?

I asked my parents why I was not circumcised. They said they had discussed it with the dr. and he said that it was just not necessary. He had not circumcised his own sons either. He said that problems were rare with the foreskin and unless there were problems later he did not see any reason to circumcise (this was in the 1960s). My dad said that he had never had any problems with his own foreskin. So they decided that I would get to keep my foreskin. I am glad that I did.

What about you?
Why did you get to keep yours?

never asked them before
because if I get it removed it will remove the most sensitive parts

I'm from that era, and the attitude was "Doctor always knows best". Science with an authoritarian slant. We have the same problem today, but it's now in other areas.
