As far as i know my parents just decided against it as best as i can recall all the older men in my family were cut but when i got older i didn't care i love being uncut tbh

Yes, our parents decided against it too, because they just didn't agree with it or think that infant circumcision (RIC) was/is at all necessary, and that it removes part of the body's natural functioning for no reason. Their view was also that it's up to us to do whatever we want with our own bodies - not for them to take away our rights to decide at the very start. They also learned about baby/child care: they knew it's important to never force back infants' foreskins during washing - that often causes long-term damage which then necessitates circumcision.
We love being uncut too. Foreskins are sexually important, the feeling is awesome and it's just wrong to take away such an intimate part of the body at birth unless there's some kind of life-threatening reason that I just can't think of. In countries that don't practice RIC, 99% of uncut guys aged 20 have fully-retractable foreskins, and the vast majority of the remaining 1% can be resolved by gentle stretching....
I was born into an Italian family and was not circumcised. At first I thought it was because I was born at home and not in a hospital, but later found out that none of the men were cut. Growing up I watched my aunt change a diaper and noticed that the baby was circumcised and asked why I wasn't. She said it was my mother who didn't want it. (This was before I saw my father). My father's brother who lived with us was cut well into his 40's. He was rather sickly and seeing a lot of doctors especially a urologist. I asked him one day if any of his doctors ever bragged about their work and he said his urologist commented on what a good job he did circumcising him. The next thing he said shocked me when he stated "and he'll be circumcising you too soon". I stated that was not going to happen. What right did he have to say whether I get cut or not. Well, it didn't happen and I still have my skin and won't ever get it cut. I clean it every day when I shower and never had a problem, except being 5 years old (I can still remember this like it just happened) and lying on the doctor's examining table. I think it was a physical for school. He took hold of my penis and pulled at my foreskin. I remember it didn't move so he really yanked it hard and finally got it to pull back. I still remember the pain and he said it won't hurt anymore and to keep pulling it back every so often. I took that to mean every day and many years later, I still do.

We never talked about things of this nature. He definitely was not kidding. I avoided him for quite a while after that.
I have read the Southern and Western States have always had the lowest circumcision rate. So that is a possibility.
Wish my state had the lowest. We are one of the highest, even still....
Interesting...I thought I had read somewhere that the lowest circ rates in the US were on the west coast. Can’t find where I read that, though. Does anyone have any hard data?
Yes, the Northeast and Midwest have always and still do have the highest rates.
California’s is very low now, but the Louisiana lowness was always there I think.
Growing up my best friend and I usually had to include his older brother which, truth be told, was a dork. Rather unattractive while my best friend was very good looking. (I knew I was gay way back in grade school) This had to be when I was in 5th grade or so but we went out for the basketball team. I was not very good being only 5 feet tall and eventually quit, but we had to take showers after practice and the showers were not divided and we all had to undress actually in the shower room. (He left his foreskin intact). Also one other boy who I didn't know very well. Getting back to his older brother, one day, for some reason, it was just the two of us (don't know where my friend was) and we were in a snack shop that sold magazines. He picked up a "girlie" magazine and flipped through the pages. I was afraid we would get caught and convinced him to leave. Walking home he told me how hard he was and told me to feel it. This was something new to me and immediately said no. He wouldn't let up and all the way back to his house kept up the topic of hardons and dicks. We went up to his room and he asked if I wanted to see "it". After much coaching on his part I finally said yes. He said "let's have a look at the back first' and showed me his ass. I would estimate 5 inches hard and realized that he had pulled back his foreskin while his back was to me. He said "we should be the 3 muskateers because we all have skin" Nothing ever happened after that and I never said anything to my friend, but that incident never left me. Sorry I got carried away because my point was out of a room of about 30 young boys, only 3 were uncut.
I answered this in a previous thread. I was never told and I never asked, but my family is Italian and neither my grandfather nor my father was.
