and have no interest in commitment or monogamy have been getting married. So I guess letting gays get married isn't anything new.

They were married for about 3 years...
As usual your kind tell half-truths.
They may have only been "married" for three years because that's when it became a legal option for them but they have BEEN TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS.
you're a tool who's insidious hatred should be banned
What are you even doing here? You clearly have a hate agenda against gay people, stating that as a class they do not love or commit to their partners the way that straight people do.
Edie Windsor did not have a pile of disposable income or savings; both she and her wife worked regular jobs. It happened that their home had increased dramatically in value over the long years they were a couple, and the federal government did not recognize her right to inherit her share of it the way it does with straight married couples. It treated them like roommates. Windsor didn't know how she was going to pay the massive bill from the IRS; she suffered a heart attack a month later. The State of New York recognized the spousal deduction on inheritance, but the federal government did not honor New York's recognition of marriage. Now it does.
I grew up poor and am a single mom of 2 kids. My vendetta is against rich people. If the Supreme Court ruled that luxury yachts were exempt from sales and property tax, I would be equally pissed. Sorry, but if you die with millions of dollars in assets you are rich.
And Slurp, what is "her" kind here?
Argumentative trolls who care only about inciting trouble rather than a healthy debate
Fair enough. Thought there was some more loaded implications lurking beneath the surface.
Well, your kind would think that. :biggrin1:Fair enough. Thought there was some more loaded implications lurking beneath the surface.
