Why should cleaning under foreskin be different than any other part of your body?
Why would you not wash EVERY DAY? Odors build up on places than your cock - underarms, between your legs.

I wash my cock in the shower and pull back the skin and lightly "scrub" but only with water, not soap. Daily.

yes regular soap is not good i'm told .. causes iratation for some , i use sunlight - pure mild but a minimal amount

Because of the technique classes I take during the day I usually take up to three showers a day. I always pull back my foreskin and clean thoroughly! I have to admit I don't stink even after the day is over. I still smell fresh when I roll my skin back or even when I pop a boner.
Remember "Water Pik" teeth cleaners ? I remember using this to wast under the foreksin. Insert the tip into foreskin, close it shut, start the Water Pik and enjoy the feel of the water jet onto the head... Doesn't take time for skin to inflate and water MUST come out and you then make quite a mess tough 
I never have a problem with odor, perhaps because I'm a fanatic about it. Anyway, I always pull the skin all the way back and wash with gentle, non-irritating soap in the shower. Sometimes, when I'm looking at porn (or LPSG) a little pre-cum is present (smile). For this, I keep a box of baby wipes in my bathroom.
Another thought. Some people like the "smell", so don't worry too much about it. I had a boyfriend once that begged me not to wash for days, just so he could experience the smell. I was able to go a week without washing, but to my surprise, and his, there was no odor. I have heard that the "smell" is nature's way of attracting your sexual partner, but I vote for the clean, just washed, manly scents, but that's just my opinion.

I don't have a method of cleaning it really. Just hold it back in the shower, let water run down it as I clean myself then dry and pull it back forwards. I recommend avoiding soaps though.
My Dermatologist recommended antibacterial "Cetaphil" cleansing bar for my face and body. It's supposed to have fewer harsh chemicals and oils than regular soap. I never have dry skin or any allergic reactions with it and I've used it for 4 years. I think it's great. You might give it a try. It's more expensive that soap, but if you're just using it to clean your winky, it will last a long time (LOL).

If i do use something on my penis its usually just my shower gel that i let rinse down my body past my cock. Never has cause problems before. As for cetaphil, I think I have used it to help my foreskin when it was dry and irritated. The lotion that is.
