i have a decent amount of foreskin, and it behaves in a pretty common way. It covers the head when erect, but only just. I can retract it behind the head, and it will mostly stay that way. When I insert it, when it moves back and forth in a pleasurable way.
When I’m having a solo wank, I keep the foreskin over the head. That way, no lube is necessary. If I want to vary the sensation for novelty, I’ll retract it and lube or vibration. But that’s rare.
When having sex with a partner, it’s retracted. in either a blowjob or fucking, there’s sfficient lubrication to make the sensitivity of the head pleasurable rather than excruciating. Personally, with the way my anatomy works, I can’t see the point in keeping the skin over the head when I have partnered sex, especially when using a condom. It would be just like fucking the inside of my own foreskin, which I can do readily on my own.
Not that I‘m knocking an orgasm with the hood up. Precum usually lubricates the inside of the foreskin, which makes for added pleasure. When docking, uncut guys always remark on how good the inside of my foreskin feels, which turns me on a lot.
The saliva/lubrication which partnered sex routinely provides is one way I manage the sensitivity of an uncovered head. But your mileage may vary.
All that said, I always retract the skin completely to ejaculate, to fully stretch the skin on the frenulum. It doesn’t stretch if the hood is up, and in my head/body it’s not nearly so pleasurable if I don’t.
And I agree: it’s great that men are talking about this so openly. There are not many other places where this can happen. And it’s a really valuable discussion.
