I would but I've been trying to put this behind me. There is a lot more to the story that I haven't posted, partly because of the NDA and partly because I had to get the police involved to stop his harassment. I became his number one enemy after he left. The harassment went on for years until I got the police involved. I tried to do something nice for a friend just to end up in a nightmare. I don't know how interested this blog would be in hearing more about what happened. I can't get too specific due to the NDA and risking more harassment. After he resigned as president, the Board promoted the VP to president and me to VP. This just reinforced the rumors that I had run the president out to get ahead.
On his departure, he deleted all of his email. I had IT restore them from backup in case there were any business related emails that should be kept. That was another major mistake! What I found was a shock to me and why the NDA exists. The Board was afraid of getting sued. There were emails with nudity and alleged evidence to get certain employees fired. He got one of the employees fired after having sex with him because his boyfriend got jealous. It turns out that I never really knew him when we were friends. I felt like I had been conned.
If anyone is interested in hearing more, I might be able to tell more without getting into trouble. Surprisingly just this little bit that I've disclosed has helped me emotionally. After I left the company, I decided I had enough of office politics and retired at a youngish age. I've run into current Board members in public and they always ask if I'd consider coming back. I won't as long as certain employees are still there, but I've never told the Board that because I am not like the past president. Every year that passes make me less interested in returning to the company.
