I genuinely feel sympathy for Spicer:
1.) His job is to defend the indefensible--Trump.
2.) He's not quick enough for the job.

O.K., he took the job. But I have to assume those watching on CCTV from the back room realize that the spit-roastings aren't doing anything positive for Trump and that given the hostile environment of a presser/briefing, Spicer will, under the pressure, turn a tear into a rip. It's what happens when politicians rather than priests offer sacrifice.
